I have changed the batteries in remote and it will won't work the channels or turn off I have to unplug it then go to recorded programmes and choose and press play. It will play but won't f/forward

Three possible speculations: 1) the remote no longer "remembers" the prior code by which it controlled all these functions. 2) One of the device controlling buttons have been depressed, changing the remote functions. 3) one of the batteries is loose and shifting around creating erratic performance. Try reprogramming the remote, setting up the device code again that allows it to control the DVD. I just don't think the other two possibilities are credible. There is an off chance that the remote went bad.

Rc-9 remote will not work at all

At first, you have to check whether the remote control is functional or not. Check its for its infrared emission. Check the battery contacts in its battery compartment for any rust or dust accumulated. Clean them well, insert fresh batteries and check for its functionality. You can get more details about how to check a remote control by check this. Some remotes will need cleaning. You can get these details too.

Remote doesn't work

Have it tested with a tester or with a digital camera since many will react on their display screen in a dark room.

Any button pushed on my remote control causes ''SET 1'' on display.

Hi, All you need to do is point the remote at your DVD player and hold both the number "1" and "enter" keys down for about 10 seconds. Evidently that re-sets the remote. It worked for me so good luck.

Pioneer 530H DVD recorder

Hi,

You said that you have changed the batteries.
While you're checking the batteries, make sure that the contacts for the batteries aren't corroded or bent. You can clean them with a pencil eraser followed by a nail file. If necessary, gently bend them back to their correct position.

Try these too,
  • Go up to the receiver and try changing the channels without using the Remote Control.
  • Refer to the Remote Control setup instructions, and make sure you have the correct codes programmed for your equipment.
  • Make sure nothing is blocking the front of the receiver (e.g., furniture).
  • Make sure you are operating the Remote Control within 20 feet of the receiver.
If all the above doesnt work,
Then

Either the remote or the receptor on the device is not functioning.

1. Use an Infrared Sensor Card to see if the remote is sending a signal.

2. If the remote is sending a signal, it used to control that device, and no other solution works, you should have a service center look at the device and remote to determine the problem and if it can be fixed.
