Could you advise me on this model as I'm looking at purchasing one of my boss's daughter she has a new phone, my wife has a old digital ,as she does not use a mobil phone much at all just wondering weather it can be put on her existing plan. as i think it is on pre paid at the present time could you please advise me . thank you .

It depends on which carrier the prepaid was with.
if The original prepaid and your wifes plan are both with the same carrier then it should be no problem just swap the sim over.
eg ( telstra to telstra ) or Optus To optus.
If the v3 is an Optus predaid and your wifes sim is a telsra plan then it wont accept the sim as the carriers lock the prepaid phones to their network
