Question about Acer AL1917W LCD Monitor

1 Answer

I have blackish red stuff in front of my toolbar on my monitor.

I have blackish red stuff on the bottomof my monitor (HP Pavilion F1503). It kind of looks like scribbles or sponge paint on the bottom of my monitor. I seem to be getting bigger and it is covering up my toolbar. Does this mean my monitor is dying or can I get it fixed. I notice it yesterday.

No, your monitor does NOT have a Mic, built in. You will have to use an external one, either in the RED Jack at the rear or front of PC, or a USB, one. (recommended)

If you can see a very faint image in the background on the the monitor it is a invertor or backlight issue, try resoldering the coils on the monitors mainboard, This is a common issue with this model

HP Pavilion F1503 LCD Monitor

If you can see the backlight ,white 2pin connectors connect to invertor pCB.Look around these two connectors you should see 2 brown/yellow/red transformers with a ferrite core. These are the inverter transformers , resolder all pins and power transistors around it.
That should solve your proble.

HP Pavilion F1503 1503 15in Flat. screen blanks out constantly

THis is a problem of the invertor board. If you are technically able you need to disasseble the monitor and resolder components around the red or yellow inverter transformers.
