Condensation build-up on the bottom seal of Viking freezer door

I have a side by side refrigerator/freezer and I've discovered a large amount of moisture along the bottom door seal of the freezer.  I recently changed the seal thinking that would solve the problem but the problem persists.  Does the seal need to be adjusted or it is the problem beyond the seal?

Hi,
I do not have a solution,
rather, I have the same exact problem.
Have you been able to solve this and how?

Thank you.

I have seen this before and it goes beyond the seal, if it was the seal, you would see vapor trails around the area where the seal is leaking. You may have a breakdown of foam in the door. How old is it?

I would have a factory rep look at it. Call Viking (800) 467-2665, they are in Greenwood Mississippi. I am a Viking service provider and would recommend that you push them to cover the issue, it has been an issue in the past and they are aware of it although they may not admit to it. Good luck

Check the ice chute door to insure that it is closed all the way. They sometimes get crushed ice in the door and blocks closing all the way. Check seal around door and the defrost condensate drain opening to insure it is not clogged with ice and sludge

What causes ice build up in bottom of freezer with french doors and then leaks out

sounds to me like a bad door seals causing condensation and leakage

Why is my freezer not cold enough?

Check the freezer door seal is not leaky. Look for signs of moisture condensation along the door. Apply a thin film of Vaseline along door frame. This will make door seal stick better.

Also check there is no ice building up in freezer. This is a self defrosting fridge and built up of ice inside means warmer temperature. Lower the use of ice cubes from the ice maker to reduce load on compressor as this can effect freezer temperature.

Check freezer is not full of too many items causing reduction of air flow and hence reducing cooling effectiveness.

When closing the refrigerator door, the suction is minimal so the seal is not really strong in the closed door position. Consequently, condensation builds at the interior door jamb and the exterior door...

Ice build-up in bottom of freezer section.

your defrost drain on the freezer side is stopped up causing the drain to freeze over then eventually running out on the floor during the defrost cycle. Locate the drain at the back of the freezer and thaw it out using hot water. Using a screw driver or other object gently push down into the defrost hole and dislodge whatever is stuck there.

An air hose with good air pressure may also work well. When the drain line is clear you should be able to pour water through it freely.
