If you have a usb cable all you have to do is look at the mother board and somewhere near the power button cable yo will see the usb port for the computer, it will say usb 1 usb 2 and will have 6 or 8 pins with one missing in the middle that will match a usb plug.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I am currently using a wireless 'dongle' to connect to the internet but I feel that it would probably give me a more stable connection if I had a wireless card. Can anyone give me details of

Hi Lynda,
The best option for you would be to purchase a wireless PCI network card.
They are relatively inexpensive and should have a stronger signal over a longer distance than a wireless USB dongle.
Below is a typical wireless network card and it should be freely available from your local PC store

I have included a brief explanation for your convenience:

A PCI wireless adapter card connects to a desktop computer's PCI bus. Because the PCI bus is contained inside the computer, the unit must be opened and the wireless network adapter installed inside.
An example of a PCI wireless adapter card, the Linksys WMP54G is shown above. This unit is more than 8 inches (200 mm) long in order to accommodate the standard connection strip required to electrically join to the bus. The unit attaches and fits snugly inside the PCI, although the wireless adapter card antenna protrudes out the back of the computer

Best wishes,
Graemevm

How to add memory? what is the proper memory?

Here is the stats on your bored

Memory Memory Type dtrquestion.gif SDRAM Max Supported RAM dtrquestion.gif 1.5 GB

your bored takes sdram and is only upgradable to 1.5gigs total

To upgrade your bored. you will see on you bord some long slender black sockets. that should already have a stick of ram in it. You will see on the end of each one like a pin that holds it in place. Just push them down, and it should open them up. You can pull the old one out and put a new one in. Or just simply push a new stick down into it, tell those little pins snap back into place holding the stick of ram. They will only go in one way so don't force them.

if this was helpful and answered your question please mark it fixya and rate me as well as recommend me.

Hello frustrated:( lol)
if you boot you machine into bios and go to the usb section which should be under periphals section you should be able to see the usb now ensure that it is all enabled once you have done that just make sure that you save the changes and reboot your machine. and hopefully it will now take care of the problem that you are experiencing.ok?
