I have a Frigidaire Gallery Goas stove and oven. I have determined the igniter is bad on the oven How do I acces the igniter. Model GLGF366ASA

Hello,

The easiest way to do that is first remove oven door by open fully and where the hinges fit their will 1crew one each side ,remove those screws, close door slowly till the hinges lock in at about a 30 degree angle, pull door off, remove oven floor by removin thumb(oversized headed) screws from the rear of it and pull floor out by pulling up on rear of it.remove flame spread that sort looks like a wing, ignitor will be under flame spreader attached to bake burner.

Good luck,i hope this helps

I have a Simpson electric oven with stove top elements, and one of the burners will only cook at the highest level, I cant figure out how to change it, any suggestions?

You need to change the "Simmerstat", take the model number to your local electrical parts supplier/parts counter at your local stove retail shop that sells Simpson stoves and ask for one for that model, make sure you get the right one for the position as some control a single element and some control dual elements.

*** TURN OFF THE WALL SWITCH AND ENSURE NO POWER IS APPLIED TO THE STOVE BEFORE PROCEEDING ****
Remove the upper back panel of the stove. Swap wire for wire of the old simmerstat to the new one, remove the knob from the old Simmerstat, undo the nut securing the simmerstat in the oven control panel and discard, fit new one, secure, fit knob, fit back panel, turn on wall switch and test.

Some countrys/states require registered electricians perform this task on electrical appliances so you must ensure you can do this legally before you start and take the relevant safety precautions and don't electrocute yourself.

MAGNETRON HAS FAILED.... I have the "over the stove mounted version" . What microwave will fit perfectly in that same space over my stove?

I would source a magnetron from ebay and fit it. Got to be cheaper than buying a new one and you know how it works!

Getting to the Pilot

Your model JGBP28DED2WH uses spark ignition on the stove top burners, and a glow bar ignitor, part number WB2X9154 for the oven and broiler. To get to the bake ignitor if oven will not light: Take the racks out of the oven. Remove oven floor by removing two screws at back of oven floor and lifting floor. Remove the square metal flame spreader to get to the burner / ignitor assembly. (note: The ignitor may still glow when you try it, but usually is still the problem)

Oven over heats/gas smell

Hi the fact that you smell gas near the floor suggests you do indeed have a gas leak, propane is heavier than air to will fall to the floor.

you really need to get the gas company to check

Fridgidaire stove

You probably have a week oven igniter. Unplug unit first!!
Remove oven floor. Remove flame spreader. Igniter is attached to side od burner tube. It removes with 2 screws. Remove drawer to access connections. New igniter will come with wire nuts. Cut wires at old igniter, strip back insulation and connect to new igniter. The 2 wires can go either way. Re-assemble and test.

Can you give me easy install directions?

are yours and hers both freestanding? (do they both have a drawer at the bottom?) if so measure the width to see if hers will fit. if so, turn off the circuit breaker to your stove. remove the drawer of your stove. do you see the plug? unplug it. now just slide it out toward you being careful not to damage the floor. installation opposite of removal.
Hope this helps
