SOURCE: Broken D-sub cable

I would advise against a direct solder inside the unit. I would go and purchase a replacement connector from a Radio Shack or other electronics parts store. Solder wires to this, then plug in, should fix problem.

SOURCE: 3 of 5 speakers not working.

normal stereo sound its not 5.1 if your hearing music its stereo and not in 5.1 channels, you need to activate the Creative Sound EAX sorround mix, check on the EAX console, there you can simulate 5.1 or clone the 2.1 channels to the rear speakers, i like more the simulation works better... simply sends some freqz to the rear speakers

SOURCE: Logitech x-530 rear speakers and Center speaker not working

you have to go to your audio output setup (try to look for an audio-related icon on your taskbar - next to time display)
setup your audio output for 6 channel or 5.1channel output (depending on software)
follow on-screen description of where to plug in your speaker jacks - green, peach and black.

I have the Genius SW-V2.1 1250 speakers and they have been working fine until I used them on my laptop and tried to plug back into the desktop computer. I can't seem to find out where to plug everything in...

The output jack is usually labeled with a small diagram of a headphone or in case if its color coded then it will be green this is where you neeed to connect your speakers. Also if your desktop have a builtin speakers or any other output such as HDMI There is a possiability that when you unplugged your speaker it has chaged. Navigate to control panel and audio and select the appropriate output device.

My genius speakers model no SP G06 donot work yet on powering them they make some sound what could be the problem

It might be the wiring connection. Make sure the wires are connected where they should be. Most of speaker wires are color coded, so it will be easy to know where to insert it. Sound cards on computers is color light green:

When I Connect the LFE Output of the Amp to the LFE Terminal of SW, the SW does not work, however, if the speaker output of Amp is connected to SW, it works ok.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

I'm assuming your amp for testing was NOT a subwoofer output. I could be wrong.

Your source is responsible for creating LFE output. Are you sure it's doing that?

Tune an FM station and connect any other active RCA output from the source (like a Tape Out) to the sub

I have a genius SW-HF5.1 5050 audio system.. everything is working when i test it. but when i play any music or movie the subwoofer is not working. The sub is working when i make the speaker test..

Conected via. 6x cinch? Most of audio signals actualy are not 5.1 - so that is IMAO why your sub is not working. Try search your audiodevice control for something like LFE. Or try playing DVD which has 5.1 audio (check player settings).

How do i connect my 5.1 speakers to my desktop computer

Know Your Speaker SystemGenerally in systems all the cables from the speakers are connected to the subwoofer which comes with a set of wires to connect, that includes : a power cord to connect the system to the AC outlet, a power connector to feed the subwoofer and the subwoofer wires. Your system should come with at least three set of cables for connecting your speaker system to your PC. These cables are usually colored to help with the installation.imageview-thumb.jpg

Start ConnectingYou should connect the cables matching the colors on the jacks located on the subwoofer. After connecting all these cable, its time to connect the rest of the cables like power, subwoofer and speakers. This is very easy if you pay attention to the subwoofer connection then you’d be able to follow the polarity that is written on the connectors. In the end, all your cables would be connected perfectly.

The above pic shows you all the ports to connect the wires to with all the color coded mannerism.
Knowing Your ComputerAll computers have atleast three connectors
  • Line-In.
  • Line-out.
  • Mic.
Computers with six channel audio systems have two more connectors, i.e
  • rear out.
  • center/subwoofer out.
You’ll need to make sure if you have these extra connecters by checking the back side of your computer.
imageviewphp-thumb.jpg
If your computer doesn’t have these two extra outputs: rear out and center/subwoofer out, it’s a disadvantage, you’d be able to connect your 5.1 anyway but you would require to use the line in and mic-in plugs as an alternative. Of course there is a really big disadvantage in using this configuration: you cannot use your microphone or line in inputs and your 5.1 speaker system at the same time. This is the reason that you should buy a motherboard with 5.1 system built in.
Configuration Of Computers With 5.1 Supporting Motherboards
  • Front cable: To Line out.
  • Rear cable: To the Rear-Out
  • Center/Subwoofer cable : To Center/Subwoofer Out.
Configuration Of Computers Without 5.1 Supporting Motherboards
  • Front cable: To Line-out.
  • Rear cable: To Line in.
  • Center/Subwoofer cable: To Mic-in.
Software ConfigurationAfter every single connection has been made, its time to setup audio configuration in operating system. Since we had Realtec drivers on our PC, Double clicking it opened up Speaker Configuration tab. In various options you should select 6 channel mode for 5.1 speaker output and check Only surround-kit if your PC has the separated rear and center/subwoofer outputs and leave it if you don’t.

Speaker wire for subwoofer

Usually, a subwoofer will have its own built-in power amplifier. Thus, it will be designed to plug into a standard RCA jack (the type used for DVD players, etc). rather than having wires to connect to a speaker terminal block. Look for a jack on the back of the receiver called "Subwoofer", or simply "SW". If your subwoofer has 2 single wires, it WON'T work with your reveiver's subwoofer output, as this output only carries a line-level signal and is not amplified. You would need a separate power amplifier for this type of SW. If your SW speaker has a DVD-type plug, it should work fine with the receiver's SW output jack.

'05 Chevy Z-71 w/ BOSE stereo upgrade. How can I wire the BA-200 ?

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as a crossover. Bose gets its name from making complete systems - meaning - Bose speakers work right because the amplifier is custom built for those speakers, and the deck is custom built for the amplifier- all Bose from beginning to end. The only way to bypass any part of a Bose system is to bypass the whole system, including amp, deck, subs, speakers, eq's, and start over from scratch, unless you are an electrical engineer and can meter components and evaluate them. Bose often has 1 or 1/2 ohm speakers which will not work with after market systems.  If you go to a Bose store, the only system that sounds good is the lifestyle system because it is Bose from beginning to end, just as an example. They are either cheaters or geniuses
