Check the carb, in particular the float. make sure there is no restrictions, and make sure there is no hole in it. (Shake it and listen)

The float will pivot freely and on the underside there is a small wire that connects the needle valve. When gas fills the bowl, the float rises and pushes the needle valve to seal odd the flow of fuel to the carb.

If the float's movement is restricted, or the needle is no longer attached OR the float has a hole in it (and is full of gas therefore rendering it useless) gas will flow through the carb into the intake.

    Hope this helps.

    hope this helpe.

I ran out of gas on my Kawasaki ZX9 and it runs not very well now! How do I clean the carbs out?

re-categorized, and tidied up your English. :-)

There are videos. Tank off, air filter box off, disconnect linkages and fuel pipes, remove carbs, clean the bottom float chambers and then the jets. Reassemble and balance the carbs. Not done this for a few years but fairly straight forward.

Why does my yamaha generator ef3000ise petrol run out of the air filter when it is stopped but it will run fine otherwise

Carb float is stuck open. Take the carburator apart and clean it, blow it out with compressed air. put it back together see if that works

My honda cr 250 idle's high when takin over. and before it runs out of petrol it rev's up on it's own.

The air/fuel mixture is Lean as opposed to rich. Adjust the air/fuel mixture screw clockwise in quarter turns until the idle normalizes. This screw can be found inbetween the carb and air filter. It should be a brass screw with a flat head (not cross or philips).
When you're almost out of fuel cab will go lean and therefore idle up.

Sounds like the carb could use a cleaning and setting by a professional...install a new plug and a new air filter.. AFTER the professional carb cleaning and setting.,,do this and repost

Have Honda CT110cc postie bike starts and runs well however when warmed up and choke auto off will not idle. Checked air filter/plug/fresh petrol/carby is clean jets etc. Also revs excessively without...

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak between the carby and the head. Check the O ring that is between the carb and manifold. Replace if it doesn't sit proud of the locating groove.

My honda 400 bros is not runing right 1 plug is wet the rest is sutted up as if runing rich what would think it is

Sooted plugs proves tht the air-mixture is too rich.(too much fuel going to the combustion chamber)
You have to set the air-mixture screw on the carb/s.
Clean the carb/s, replace 'inline' filter , if you don't have one ..install one, reset float level.
It's better to also check the valve clearance too.
Fit in new plugs (gapping them to specs.) and run the engine to its normal temperature thn set the air-mixture screw...standard setting....all the way in i.e. tighten it slowly to the end making sure not to damage the tip of the screw, thn 2 and half turns outwards to 3.
Start the engine....run to normal temperature and thn reset the air-mixture screw +/- either way.
Hope this helps!

Honda vfr 400 does not idle

gummed up carbs, faulty fuel pump, blocked fuel filter.

all of these will give you that response, fuel starvation.
you are not getting the right amount of gas thru, unles you have the choke on which cuts out some of the air making your mixture a little richer.

if it sat over winter in storage, the carbs probably could do with cleaning. you can try removing the air filter and spraying a bunch in, let it sit over night and see what happens. a good fuel system cleaner (additive) may help. if you can get Berrymans B12 ( dont know what country you in) it may be just american. but if you get some double the dose throw it in the gas tank, run bike til hot and then put it away for the night. then next day hopfully should be better. also if you have an inline fuel filter you could try changing that. does it have an electronic fuel pump.? does it run constantly? http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp
that link will get you a free pdf service manual
