Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
My washer will not go into the spin cylcle. I noticed the switch has fallen. I need to get in to get to the switch and i'm not sure how. I don't know the model # of my machine. It is full of water & I can't move it. Can you explain to me how to get to the switch?
Its a top load, switch in on the right as you are facing the washer. It's an extra large capacity. We bought it new between '99 & '00.
Whirlpool? The model number should be under the lid or on the back of the console. If you have a floor drain you can drop the drain hose and water (not all) will run out. The cabinet is removed to repair this. The console will have 2 screws either in the back corners or the front corners that go down into the top. The console will flip back giving access to the switch harness and the cabinet clips.Unplug the harness remove the 2 clips and tip the cabinet towards you. Switch is underneath. If you remove the plug end off the old switch and tie the black and gray wires together (Green should be the one connected to the cabinet) it can be used as a temporary jumper to get the water to drain while you get another switch.
