My mother in law always complains about hearing beeping while I talk to her using magic jack. I've tried everything I can to fix this
The problem is due to DTMF sensitivity being too high. Open a chat and ask service rep to lower the DTMF sensitivity. You will then have to reset and problem should go away. Basically the equipment is sensing certain voice patterns as the signal that is sent when a person touches the keypad on the phone.
This is regarding Magic Jack that i have been using since 1 year I installed Magic Jack In the beggining Magic Jack didnt encounter any error after few months It encountered a problem It always shows Warning Message: Magic Jack has not inserted properly Though I installed .... When i format my Magic Jack drive It installs and it doesnt show any errors in it so always when i put on my computer I always format magic drive to install magic jack software without any errors My question Do i need to upgrade software? or Is there anything else that i need to do something for magic to solve my solution

Magic jack beeping sound. I hate it. can this be gotten rid of?
You can use Magic Jack customer care at http://www.magicjack.com/2/customercare.asp
I talked to 3 operators. The long and the short of it is that they had me:
1. remove a Majic Jack related folder from an applications folder
2. insert MJ1 and MJ2 in the Windows Firewall exceptions
3. format the Majic Jack software "drive"....and then install an upgrade.
Based on this, I think the problem crops up in the Majic Jack software. So far, it has fixed my problem, though I've not made a long call yet.
I found the Majic Jack operators very helpful. Be sure to have them step you through this.
Good Luck!

I've had this issue since day one of taking it out of the package. I've gone through step after step with MJ customer support and nothing helps it. Some days the beeping is on both ends of the conversation which is so annoying. From what I have read on other forums, there was some sort of a software upgrade in the beginning of June that screwed with alot of the MJacks. People that were never having a problem, encountered the beeping at the upgrade. There was a "fix" later in the month but it hasn't helped mine.
It can be annoying while on a call, I don't use if for business purposes so I just put up with the "beeping." The $10 a year I'm paying for the MJ is a lot easier to take with the beeping than the $40 a month I was paying ATT for a clear line.
My experience. Per my rep they only have 2 settings to choose from
1. Allow pins, banks, numbers to work ( in this setting my callees hear the beeps but I can at least use the phone for automated systems)
2. No beeping sounds ( but this breaks the automated systems).
I choose #1 but wish it could do both.
