First try a different outlet, you never know.
More likely is that you may need to replace the power switch on the machine. Call the Dyson Helpline - they will find an authorized repair dealer in your area who will be able to inspect the power switch and replace it for you.

you have got to open the motor housing that isthe black casing that surounds the motor first then the motor comes out then you can see the brushes thay come out by lifting the copper strip up gently with a screwdriver then you pull it out then put in new ones

Unfortunately your motor had burnt up..most times this is due to not cleaning or replacing the filters...the filters get dirty and the motor gets no airflow to cool it....very common on dyson vacs
