How can i reset my whole computer so it can be like the first day i got it ?

Hi,
Check for the presence of a recovery partition first, select Start > Computer. If the partition is present, an HP Recovery drive is listed in the Hard Disk Drives section of the window.
If your computer came with SSD (Solid State Drive) it may not have a recovery partition. If so, then you need to request for the recovery disc from HP. If ever you have the recovery partition on your computer then we can recover that back to it's factory state by following the steps below:
On some models, you can perform a recovery from the partition on the hard drive from either the Start button or f11.
To restore the system from the partition, follow these steps:
1. Access Recovery Manager in either of the following ways: >Select Start > All Programs > Recovery Manager > Recovery Manager. -or- > Restart the computer and press f11 while the "Press <F11> for recovery" message is displayed on the screen. Then select Recovery Manager.
Recovery Manager opens.
2. Click Advanced Options. 3. Click System recovery, and then click Next. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

How to reboot my gateway nv53 laptop to factory without a cd bought this laptop used starting to have problems so i want to erase everything and make it like new

Hi.

The laptop may have a hidden recovery partion which you can access from boot up. Turn the laptop off and then restart it. When you see the Gateway logo hold down Alt and repeatedly press the F10 key. From there follow the on-screen instructions to restore the laptop to factory defaults, it should take about half an hour but could be longer.

Remember to back up any data that you want before you restore the system.

If you can't access the recovery partition then you can use Windows to do it for you. Click on the Start Menu> All Programs>Gateway and then Gateway Recovery Management. In the Gateway Recovery window click on Restore and then select Restore System to factory default and follow the on-screen instruction. The computer will restart and proceed with the restore.

Regards.
