Is it possible to take the colour crayons out once they are in the machine, but still whole? Also, we are getting a lot of streaking in the colour. How do I rectify this? Is there a manual that I can download?

Also, the make and model is Xerox Phaser 8860MFP - could you send me the manual to download. Also, the answer you gave to the streaking, was that for this make and model?

Hi,

Regarding streaking :-

Just as there is a corona charge wire inside your machine to charge the paper, many toner cartridges have a charge wire inside them to charge the drum as well. Often times, during cartridge installation, when you pull the toner release and rotate the cartridge to distribute the toner, some dust will fall inside the cartridge, and may get on the corona wire. This is why you should clean your corona wire occasionally. Your equipment will typically have a corona cleaning tool, which is located either on the floor of the machine, next to the machine's corona wire, or under the copy board cover on your copier. This tool should be inserted into the slot on the cartridge, and moved the length of the slot about 10 times. Removing dust from the cartridge's charge wire will prevent most vertical streaking. If you don't have a corona cleaning tool, but your cartridge and machine have a corona wire, ask your re-manufacturer to get one for you. Most vertical streaking caused by a dirty corona wire will be hazy or uneven, and intermittent.

Now,

if we talk about manual, kindly let me know the make and model, so that i can send you a manual, if available..

Thanks.

If drain hose is connected to a standpipe check that it's inserted no more than 4". You may be getting a syphoning situation that is allowing gray water to contaminate clean clothes.

My HP Color LaserJet 8550 is printing very distinct streaks. It seems to be in areas that have a lot of magenta. Any idea how to get rid of the streaks??

If the streaks are limited to a single colour, the problem is likely to be THAT colour TONER CARTRIDGE.

A problem with the DRUM UNIT (only a single drum in this printer) or the TRASNSFER DRUM , or BELT (this printer has both a transfer drum and a belt), would affect ALL colours.

its ok, pause the screen and get a wax crayon the colour that you want the peoples faces to be and colour over them on the screen. when you have fully enjoyed that frame scrub it off and pause the video 1 second later. eventually you will make the whole movie like this the exact colour you want it.................

Epson black print has color streaks in it and my color print has different different other color streaks in it. What is wrong? I have experienced this problem with a couple of different printers I own....

I have personally encountered similar problem in my work.

Sometimes when either of the inks overflow at the nozzle, it gets absorbed to an extent into another ink compartment. So that colour affected now prints another colour; the colour that has crept into its compartment, Sometimes it is serious at other times is not. If not serious, usually, after a few solid colour prints the colour affected returns to normal.

I do not know how much of a technical person you are, but I will give you the solution to returning that colour to print rightly. Bring out your colour cartridge. Peel off the seal covering top. You will see the holes through which in is fed into it. Get a clean handkerchief, fold it and place over the top of the cartridge. Hold it over a bowl or something. Now place your mouth over the top with the handkerchief in between and blow hard. Ink will discharged at the nozzle. Clean off the ink with folded tissue; always dab not wipe. (At the nozzle do not rub only dab). Now press a piece of folded tissue to the nozzle firmly. It should be blotted with ink:- red, blue, yellow. If any colour is missing you may need to repeat the procedure. Once you get the three colours back, the issue is resolved.

HP Laserjet 2820 Streaks on Page

Hi,

There are 3 parts to the imaging process that could cause your issue. You have the toner (x4), the imaging drum unit (Q3964A) and the fuser unit. If you are getting streaks from all colors, one or more these parts are the issue.

Let's start with the easy stuff:

Open the cover as if you were replacing toner where you can "visually" inspect the toner and imaging drum. Pull the drum out and pull back the "plastic shutter" on the top, this will expose a green drum CAUTION! Too much exposure to light and touching it can cause damage. Just take a quick look trying to see if any of the lines on your page match any marks on the drum. Check the bottom half of the unit as well there should be a white section across the bottom, expect that as well.

Next look at the toner, if you can look at any other color but black it will help you look for the streak marks a lot easeier. If you couldn't see any streaks on the drum on toner cartridges, it's time to look at the fuser unit. Power the machine down and turn it around, unplug it then fold down the blue clips and CAUTION! the fuser heats the toner to the page so if it's been used recently it may be hot. once the clips are down, just pull straight back and look for the streak marks.

Sorry for the book, but I hope it helps.

Orange crayon melted all over the drum of drier and I cannot get it cleaned. Any suggests?

You now have hot melted wax coating EVERYTHING, I bet.

First, unplug your dryer, for safety.
Now take some turpentine or wd-40 and dampen a cloth with it.
Scrub, scrub away.
once it's clean(will take a LOT of elbow grease), you'll want to clean up the solvent.
A wash-cloth, dampened with soapy water, will do a pretty good job here.
Finally, leave the machine OPEN for a good solid day/night.
This lets any fumes remaining from the solvent escape.
this is important, if you don't want to blow up your dryer when you next start it up.

2 Missing ink black streaks

Check the dev unit for missing lines. Also clean the laser glass with the supplied cleaner pad - though if the problem were caused by toner on the lens, there would be gaps in ALL colours.

Check the dev units first. You can also do a stop test whilst a full colour test image is half way through printing and see if the lines are missing off the image on the PCU as well.
