Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Tascam guitar trainer MP-GT1; While my unit is on play, I get this forceful, sharp, hissing sound suddenly coming in bursts of a second or a few seconds or in intermittent patches of bursts. What is it? ...

Sounds to me like a oscillation in some circuit. This is a common issue with unstable circuits that can happen to any Op Amp product device. It can be brought on by a connection issue as well.
The noise is best investigated with a scope to find out what it looks like and then to find the problem on the bench. I bet Tascam does not repair it but just replaces a card or board in the unit.

Mp3 file not supported

Hi R Shulman
Make sure your MP3 files are MP3 files and not WMA or someother type of files because they will not work on your player.
Here are your drivers and other associated downloads

Assuming that your computer can actually see your tascam unit, Are you absolutely sure that you have converted your music files to MP3 as of course this is crucial. Are you also looking in the correct folder.

How do you load songs on the tascam MP-GT1? does anyone know cause it would be much appreciated thnx

Connect the unit to your computer with the USB. It will show up as an external hard drive. Click on the unit from the menu and you will see 3 folders on the menu. Drag any mp3 music file from your computer to the "Music" folder on the unit. The problem you may run into however is that itunes music are copy righted and many songs on your computer may be mp4. You may need to rip directely from the cd's onto the computer, or even burn to a disc and then rip them back.

MP-GT1 ERROR 50

Same thing happened to me.
The thing wouldn't power on or I'd get a "DEVICE ERROR" message on the LCD.

When I pushed the level button on the left side of the unit along with the power button the unit turns on.
I have no idea what the problem is.

My tascam mp-gt1 won't recharge - device error

I had the same problem. After trying to turn it on many many times over weeks, I gave up. A few months later I tried it again, and same "Device Error" only. Then I decided to just mess around with it. So I held the power button on with my thumbnail while I pushed all the other buttons. I held in the MENU button for at least five seconds. Held in the ENTER button at least 5 seconds.... multiple buttons. These didn't seem to work, I don't think. but then decided to turn on the power button using the edge of my desk while several fingers pushed multiple other buttons.
To my great shock, all of a sudden, the bloody thing turned on like it's supposed to, logged into a Sugar Ray song I was learning awhile back, apparently. Go figure. After that, it turned on correctly twice so far.
So, heheh, I have no idea what the cure was. Just screw around with holding in multiple buttons while the power is on, I guess.

MP-GT1 keeps connecting and disconnecting from PC

The problem lools like the MP-GT1 is drawing to much current from the USB port. Try using a lead from a 2 1/2" external Hard Drive that has 2 USB plugs to connect the MP-GT1 to the PC. The MP-GT1 can then source 1000ma of current for charging.
