Re: crackling sound

Hi, the problem could be in your phone line, A solution I found was a free download from CNET called "Noise Free Voip"
This is a small download that runs with Skype etc and works very well at reducing outside noise factors.

Hi my problem is that the picture gets slower than sound and they don;t always match.........

That is a processor load problem. Turn off as many background programs as you can by going into the start menu lists.

Your soundcard is going bad. The easiest way to fix is to replace with a new soundcard. Depending on what features you want the price could be anywhere from $35 to about $140. Hope this helps.

Cakewalk Sonar - Edirol UA-1000 crackles on playback!

That's a latency issue it sounds like.
There's a slider under "Audio" .

Move it in increments towards "slow", test it as you go.
Leave it at the highest setting possible that doesn't crackle.

I've heard this so bad that it sounds like a gun going off.
It scares the Hell out of you when it happens !

There is a crackling sound after I record.

The problem was the VIA chipset firewire card. I changed it with a Texas Instruments one. Works perfectly now.

I hear background whitenoise/static

You need a better quality connection. Make sure that all of the wires run a straight path without unneeded or unnatural twists or ties. You also need to use the best cables for your situation. This means that you should use the right length and gauge recommended for your devices. If none of this works, you can always get an electronic loop-isolator (sweetwater, radioshack) which is essentially an enexpensive feedback eliminator and does the same thing as a grounded outlet, elimintating all of the extra "electric noise" which is not needed. Make sure that your devices are all plugged into grounded outlets as well. A surge protector with grounded slots will not always work, especially if it is not inserted into a three-prong outlet. Another thing is to make sure that no extra current is running through your devices. Because, in addition to the "noise" you are also damaging your equipment more from such "noise." In fact, depending on how long you have used your equipment, you may have already done some damage.

Crackling noise

I had the same problem initially. Upgrading the RAM from 1GB to 3GB seems to have done the trick in my case. Mind you, I also reinstalled Windows XP, so that could be another factor.

Soundcard problems

I'd say to look at latency settings and sample rates. also disable screen savers and power management.

Crackling noise - help

check all your cords make sure they are connected proper if they are then its internal. Is the gear brand new if so its under warranty if not then come back and ask again. It takes a brave person to answer your direct email address that means you are able to see who the person is ie his email address you will know. On fixya people dont like emailing others because the others maybe spammers....hence the Report abuse button on this program!
