Assuming I've got the right device, you can see the formats supported are listed at the top. I've had a look at the Toshiba website, and there are no downloads for your drive, however, I think you can get the user manual from here:-

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_manuals.jsp?service=UK

Its worth checking out, because there may be a firmware update option in the menu which may help.

From what I've seen, it has an operating system, if so, check the menu options here, see if there's a System Update option. Again, that could update your codec lists.

Finally, this is just a guess, but if there is an operating system, its probably Linux, there should be a software download option, see if you can download and install a programme called VLC media player. Its about one of the best.

I just bought a micro sd card & my computer is telling me that i need to format it before i can use it but the card whole let me format it because it said that its write protected how am i suppose to...

SD cards and most microSD adaptors have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

MY DANA ELEC 4GB THUMB DRIVE WILL NOT FORMAT

LLFTOOL is a utility for low-level disk drive formatting,
also supports formatting of FLASH cards using a card-reader.

1. Download this tool:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4040651/LLFTOOL.EXE

2. Format

(WARNING: After running this low level format tool,
the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased.
Therefore, data restoration will be impossible after using this utility!)

How shall i put in a kingston 1gb micro sd in a All in 1 card reader

You should have 2 components with your micro SD card. The card, a small adaptor and a large adaptor. All you need to do is see what size adaptor your read needs. You place the card in the tiny slot in the adaptor and slide it in the reader. The computer will find the micro SD and install the driver to read it. Then it will give you an option to open the files. That is how 99% of them work.

Card reader

It may just be your card. Is the protection switch on the card set? You can always try to update the drivers for the reader.

It says memory card needs formatted

Hi
  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

    Write protected memory card..sd card

There should be a little switch on your memory card reader, if it is facing down, your card is locked. Push it up and then you should be ready to go. :)

I need to recover the data from my PMP-120 (hard drive is removed)

    That's because it's a Toshiba 1.8" zif drive.

Adaptors/ enclosures are available on the web.

If the drive is still working once you've taken your data off then sell it. Used 20Gb 1.8" drives are going for about £30+
