Too much ice is usually and indication that the bin thermostat is not functioning correctly. It has either come out of it's holder, is not calibrated properly, or has lost it function and needs replacing. The thermostat "Kills" power to the control board when Ice comes in contact with it and shuts the machine down. Hoshizaki says it should happen within 6-10 seconds of ice contact after the end of a harvest cycle. I would start there first.

Ice dispenser not producing ice. water not being fed through pump to ice tray

It sounds like you might have a bad fill valve. There are several reasons that an ice-maker doesn't get water. If the freezer isn't cold enough, the ice-maker thermostat will not allow it cycle. There are two different styles of ice-makers. Pull the white cover off of the ice-maker, if you see two gears the you have one of the earlier models. Turn the smaller of the two gears counterclockwise slowly until the gears start to turn by themselves. Now if you do not have the two gears under the cover, then you have a modular ice-maker. There are several holes in the brown plate. Each hole will have a letter beside it. Jumper between the T and H holes until the ice-maker starts to turn by itself ( you should hear a click if you'll listen closely). Now that you ave cycled the ice-maker, check and see if there is water in the ice tray. If you still have no water then change your fill valve. If you do have water then its usually cheaper to replace the actual ice-maker. Be sure to check the temp of the freezer, most ice-makers will not cycle above 10F degrees. Most ice-makers are around $130. Most valves are around $50. I hope this helps you solve the NO ICE situation.

Ice maker not making ice

Hello there:
There's no ice If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order: It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: bullet.jpg If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. bullet.jpg If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. bullet.jpg In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly. The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

Ice maker not working on Kenmore Model # 106.54563300 Water comes through water dispenser fine Water came pouring out through ice dispenser door so I flipped bar up to turn it off Removed front box held in...

First the arm has to be in the down position. It sounds like you said theres water in the ice maker. If thats the case then it should have frozed. The ice cannot drop unless the ice maker heater comes on. Then the ice maker scoops the ice and drops into the resoviour thingy. If you have ice in the ice maker tray but no ice in the bucket then the ice maker is defective.

My ice maker wont deliver ice. can you help

Ice maker/ ice dispenser manual HERE

If the ice maker mold is empty try adding some water. Wait. If a batch of ice pops out then water valve replacement is in order. If it fails to pop out a bit of ice then the ice maker is bad. I have more information on a page I created HERE

My ice maker stop working

Knowing how an ice maker works can greatly increase your ability to diagnose and repair it. Just like vehicles, ice makers all may look different but they all work on the same princible. A thermostat starts the ball rolling, turning on a motor and a heater to loosen the ice, as the ice dumps a trigger fires up the water valve and refills it. The whole thing comes to a halt and waits till the thermostat gets satisfied once again.
So what can go wrong? The ice maker will give a clue. If their is ice in the ice maker but none in the bucket that is an ice maker failure. If the ice mold is empty and no ice in the bucket then the water valve is bad.
One thing you can do is get a bottle of water and fill the mold. If it kicks out a batch but no more, water valve replacement needed. If it don't then ice maker problem. If you have shelling or fouled cubes, look for dirty coils below the ice box that make for faulty cooling. Ice forms at 32f but ice mold tstats don't kick in the afterburners till 25f. I have some more detailed tips with videos and manuals: HERE

Jenn-air ice maker, stand alone unit, will not shut off, keeps producting ice.

There should be a sensor inside the ice maker bin that tells the ice maker when its full. It may be a wire or an arm on top of the ice. If you accidentally knocked that off the ice maker won't know when the bin is full and just keeps making ice

Kenmore Ice Maker

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.
