Question about Activision Medieval Total War: Viking Invasion for Windows
Windows XP (HE 2002), AMD ATHLON 64, DirectX 9.0c, NVidia GeForce 7300GS, Driver nv4-disp.dll version 6.14.0011-6921 (suspect, because the game used to run fine and this is what has changed)
Game loads and runs okay but suddenly blinks to desktop. Worse after battles or as the game gets further along. Very difficult to play later periods.
Tried loads of 'cures' as mentioned by the many other users with the same preoblem in the forum (but not loading earlier versions of Video driver as this is rather unrealistic) None of them helped noticeably.
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Hi I don't know what the problem was I took the laptop back to the store and we tried the game secret service on a computer the same as the one I had and it was very very slow. So we tried it out on some different Laptops some worked, some didn't. I'm not sure if I should mention product names. Solution was they exchanged laptops, but I haven't tried the game on my new one yet. I think maybe these games should be played on desk top computers. However when I get a chance to try this game again, I might try a 64bit patch, because when the Tech came in to set up my router, he downloaded a patch for MOH Airbourne. Thats all for now Baldeagle1 (Doug Brown)
Very Best Regards and thank you.

Older products aren't compatible with newer OS. The best way you can play these games is probably by emulating a virtual PC. Try installing Windows 98 on a Windows Virtual PC.
Here's a link to a detailed manual: http://www.essjae.com/virtualization/WinVPC-InstallingWin98.pdf
If this didn't fix your issue please let me know. Hope this helped you!

SOURCE: WE are trying to play
I've never heard of this kind of problem but, since it crashes at a certain level the reason could be,you don't have all the files of the game.So reinstall the game and see if it works.
