check your computer if you have the latest direct X for your operating system, if you have then go there and test and your video card can work with it.if it can, there might be another way to install the game you wish to run, copy the entire game folder where it is installed and paste it on your hard disk, some games are really hard to install and run afterward s.especially when you want to play DOTA on your computer, see you in garena!

OK. some games not able to run on Intel Extreme Graphics driver that u installed, other thing is that ur Direx files are currepted, new installation of O.S may solve it, (like if u have Intel D945,DG31, or other intel board, that have a video driver named "Intel (R) Extreme Graphics" may not be able to run all your gamse properly, u must install a PCI Express Card on it, then u will be able to run the games that ur friend's pc not run)

There might be 2 reasons......

1. Do you have updated directX?

If not, get it from Microsoft's website.

2. You have old video/graphic card or no 3-D card. Check the configuration of your desktop.

your are using separate vga card, right! ATI Radeon, now this is a solution, install the directX 10 version to support the game you have... and install your vga card properly so that is will ran the games faster, no faster how fast is your memory but if you do not put DirectX, it will not run...
