Lost administration rights

What operating system are you using? If you are using windows 7 you can try.
1. Start computer and then press "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" twice at Windows Login Screen.
2. Type "Administrator" without quotations in the username box and leave password box blank. Then hit "Enter" to log onto Windows system.
3. Go to "Start->Control Panel->User Accounts" to unlock the forgotten Windows 7 password.
This will work if there has been no changes to the default settings of windows 7. It is the same for windows XP

How do i login on as administrator on my computer?

Login With the Administrator Account in Windows XP Professional

Click the "Start" menu and then click "Log Off."

Click "Switch User" when the prompt screen opens.

Press "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete."

Click on "Administrator" when the "Log on to Windows" screen pops up. Type in the administrator password, if applicable.

Click "OK." You will now be logged in as the administrator.

Log On as An Administrator in Windows Vista

Start your computer and allow it to continue through its startup process. By default your computer will simply load directly to the primary user account (usually the administrator account), but if there are multiple users on the system it will load to the account login screen.

Use the mouse to click on the administrator account from the list of available accounts to log on. This step is only necessary if you've customized Windows Vista with more than one account or you have set the operating system to load the login screen first.

Enter the password required in the password field to log on to the administrator account.

Click the "OK" or "Log On" button once you have entered the password. This button may be labeled differently depending on the version of Windows Vista or any GUI (graphical user interface) changes you may have made.
Log on as an administrator from within the Windows Vista environment by clicking on "Start" and then "Log Off." As soon as you have logged off, you will be returned to the login screen where you can choose the administrator account from the available list.

I try loging on to my windows but the log on screen dont allow me enough space to put in the letters to my password how can this be fixed

If you Windows is XP, try this, when you reach the logon screen, move the mouse cursor on the blank screen and click once, now press Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice on the keyboard, type in your username and try with the password. If still it doesn't allow, then type in "Administrator" on the username box and press enter, leaving the password blank. Most systems has no admin password, so if it's same with your's you'll be able to do that and you'll be allowed to login a the administrator. Once you are logged in, go to control panel and change the password of your user with a shorter one. You can now log-off from the administrator's account and login to your account with the newly created password.

Good luck.

Forgot asus laptop password Windows vista

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but we’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
Windows Password Recovery Tool is one of the easiest password recovery tools to use. It allows you to reset a user account password, including the Administrator password. It is also a relatively small download.

Windows log on

You can try logging in as administrator.  As the computer starts up press 'F8' to get into the boot options and select 'Safe Mode with Networking".  Click on the administrator login, the password is blank unless you set one during installation.  Once in windows you can modify the user accounts in control panel.
Note:  If you have never used "F8" to get to the boot menu before the timing is a bit tricky.  If you see the windows logo you are too late. Try pressing "F8" several times instead of just holding it down

Cannot log into dell computer

to reset your password numerous applications are able to do just that. the only drawback is if EFS (encrypted file system) has been enabled on the xp system in question, if it has been unless you know the origional password the files that have been encrypted will remain unreadable.

one of the many free apps out there can be downloaded from the link below;
http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/cd080526.zip

this particular one is an iso image that should be burnt onto a cd. You reboot your computer making sure that boot from cd is permitted. Then follow the prompts to reset your password.

Note from my own experience: You tend to have more sucess when changing the administrator password, if you leave it blank ie no password entered, then from the operating system log on as the administrator then change the administrator password to something appropirate. of course once this has been done you then change the password of the account in question (again from the operating system) to something that you remember.

Hi,
To resolve the problem,do the following step,
1. Power on the system
2. At dell logo screen before windows xp starts to load tap on the F8 key slowly 5 to 8 times
3. Select safe mode
4 Hit enter on the next screen and logon using the administrator or your name
5. Do the system restore, when you have logged on, this would return your system back to the date when it was working fine
6. To system restore
