Camcorder takes a Canon BP-711 battery. There are several battery manufacturers who make batteries to this specification. Use a search engine to find.

Why am I having difficulty rewinding and playing tapes?

Is the Canon UC9 a HI8 camera?? If not it wont play HI*.

When playing back a Hi8 video tape on my UC9 the tape stops after 15-20 minutes. What is going wrong? How can I fix it?

hi,
does that happens with all your tapes or for a specific one?
if for all:
the grease of the mechanism must have become hard with the dust and the time ! it is not easy to repair and i would recommend you to think about buying a second hand one on ebay for ex, because the repair will cost more than that !
if it is only with specific tapes, make them go fast forwards and fast rewind various times to re "flexibilise" the tape, because with time the turns of the plastic tape are a bit glued together, that can be used also when the recordings are really short clips, as when the motors goes and stop, it can make ridges on each side of the all tape (like waves) so FW and RW and it re rolls on a better way without interruption
cheers,
mich

Canon charge light blinks 7 times

If your Sony camcorder displays a tape transport or mechanical error code always try resetting the camcorder. This is done by removing the battery or ac power, wait 10 seconds, reapply the battery or ac power and try again. If it still goes into error try another tape. The camcorder will not always display an exact error code. Sometimes you may see an error message such as, "Reinsert the cassette", on the LCD screen. This is the camcorders way of saying, "Take the tape out and try again." Try reloading the same tape as well as a new tape. If the camcorder is still going into error this means it is time to send it in for service or repair.
The camcorder may also sometimes display a "Reattach Power Source." This is the camcorders way of saying,"Try resetting my system,so I can try again." Many people mistaken this error and think they have a problem with the battery or ac adapter. This is not true and has nothing to do with your battery or ac adapter. Reset the camcorder by removing the battery or ac power, wait 10 second, reapply the battery or ac power. If the error reappears the unit needs to be serviced or repaired.

I have received as a gift a Canon FS300 Digital Video Camcorder . The first time I used it, I followed instruction on how to charge the battery with CA-570 Compact Power Adapter which was included. It wok...

Hi!

Almost sure there is nothing wrong with your battery, charger and camcorder.
The battery loose power even when doing nothing, especially when it is a NiMH type.

Please charge the battery for a couple of hours and try again to start the camcorder.

Good luck!

Canon ZR200 mini DV Digital camcorder power is not coming.

First thing, clean your battery contacts, both on the battery, and on the camcorder. Make sure the battery is charged fully (measure it if you have a voltmeter). Make sure your power adapter is putting out voltage (again, measure it if you can) Try a spare battery, if you have one, to make sure the first one isn't just dead. Other than those things, you could have a faulty or broken power switch on the unit. That's about all I can think of offhand.
