Question about AOC CT700G 17" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

My AOC 17" CRT monitor displays large veiw on DOS & some PC DOS games where the top portion is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

When in DOS mode & while running DOS-based games the top portion that's supposed to be displayed at the top overlaps the display at the bottom part of the screen.  I am using Palit GeForce FX5200 128MB/DDR nVidia, is there any software that can correct this?

Sounds like you need to run a screen config wizard. If you have a true Nvidia driver you can do this. Otherwise, re-download the driver from the main website
and it'll work for you

I have an LG 17"

First thing to do is determine whether the problem is the monitor or the PC.
Do you have another PC you could try the monitor on, or perhaps a friend will lend you a monitor for an hour or two?
Obviously if the display is ok on another monitor, then the problem is your monitor, however if the display is still "too big" then the problem is the PC.

By the way, when you say the display is "too large" what EXACTLY do you mean?

My monitor changes colors (e.g. normal then turns

Color changes on the display mostly occurs because of a faulty VGA cable or a loose connection of the cable to the VGA port at the back of your PC or Monitor. But if the cable is fixed securely at the back and the problem still persists, slightly move the cable's wire segment while observing its reaction on your monitor. Does it change colors while u do so? If it does even when the cable is securely plugged in to both the PC and the monitor, then u need to change the cable.
As for the visible display area size (technically called the Resolution) right click on an icon free area on the desktop and click Properties. At the top of the form click on the Settings tab. At the bottom of this form find Screen Resolution and adjust it to it your requirements and click Apply. On the confirmation dialogue that pops up click Yes if the displayed resolution suits u otherwise click No and try another resolution size. Hope this helps.

1 Answer AOC 17" CRT monitor display on the screen says NOT SUPPORTED OUT OF RANGE... i try to change the screen resolution by using other monitor but still nothings happen..

Change to the lowest settings you can on the other monitor, then connect the 17" CRT. If you can see anything, go to display settings and slowly bring the settings up. If you lose the display, press "n" (there is a dialog box asking if you want to keep the settings, y or n). Most likely it is a refresh rate that is set to high. Try setting this to 60 Hz for starters.

Hope this helps.
