I too have a simliar issue with my Vizio. After set has been turned on for about an hour, the images on the TV begin to be outlined with a florecent green/lime color that wont go away until I turn of my set. After five minutes or so, I turn the TV back on and things return to normal. But after a day or two, It will continue with the same problem. Please help. Thanks.

I found out that the main board gets too hot after few minutes that the TV is ON and that causes the interference of voltage, So, I don't know what causes it but my Vizio Tv turned green also and I installed a desk FAN behind the TV and kept it cool. This solved the problem, but as soon as I turn the FAN OFF, TV gets hot and turns green again. I spoke to VIZIO Customer Service and the people that I bought it from; Vizio knew about the problem and offered to fix it, but the wholesaler that I bought mine from is willing to swap it for another one.

I hope this would help to continue using the TV untill the problem is fixed.

Thank you

I have seen this before. It is a tricky problem it's caused by two distinct problems causing one symptom. The first problem is with your backlight and the driver for it (this includes the ballast and inverter) and the actual LCD screen (the elements on the edge are not reacting fast enough to voltage changes.

A quick fix would be to replace inverter board that would stop the overdrive problem, now for the bad new the get rid of the green haze you may have to replace the screen, and that could get costly. I am only goin on what I have seen, in the past with this problem there may be other causes, however these will require the use of test equipment to do the job properly. I would me the suggestion that you have a qualified TV technician repair this TV for you.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

This would be the decoder/tuner board giving out, Your going to need to take it in for a replacment of that board.

you can try to unplug it for a while and see if it resets but i doubt that will cure anything long term. Proscan is known for this issue and have been known to have bad decoders in them.

Thanks for being considerate and leaving a ratings and feedback today.

I unplugged my tv for about 1/2 hour and when I plugged it in again, the green light was on with no pictue or sound. I was unable to turn the tv off with any buttons on the set or the remote. The power...

Leave teh TV unplugged for a very long time and runa fan on it during that time, LCD's and plasmas are very hot, most likely the issue with yours is overheating or simliar, or maybe you shorted something when unplugging it. But the first opstion is free, before getting it repaired

Green outline/shadow on dark images or backgrounds

LVDS Cable is corroded - This is the cable the provides video from the TV Video Process board to the LCD Panels Timing Control Board.

Honestly, if you can take the TV back do so. If not, Service it using the manufacturer warranty

Samsung LCD TV Image Retention...I Think

I have not noticed that with my set, Sony Bravia 2007 1080I.

Uh, I have a bigger problem though...

I had just paused my live tv for about 40 minutes on abaseball game and now I have green burn in.
I'm in the middle of searching the net for solutions. I have tried:

pure white screen for 30 minutes (no change)
"fuzz" for 1 hour (no change)
turn TV off for 12 hours (no change)
I'll now try to power down fully for 12 hours and see what happens.

Green and red outlines -- Help!

This is most likely due to a problem in sthe convergence circuit. Since it seems to get worse as the set is on, I would look first for poor connections around the convergence ICs. Bad connections can change the circuit characteristics enough to cause this symptom. Resolder the pins on these ICs. These are large blac ICs attached to a heat sink and should be marked STKxxx.
Keep us posted.
