Battery life is always dependent on what "settings" you have for the "power" (the icon of the battery, next to the clock), and also how do you use the system. for example if you use it gaming kiss you battery lasting goodbye, if you use it for business, and like your screen very bright, your battery drains faster, if you are using you laptop and NOT using the wireless (not browsing the internet wirelessly), turn that wireless OFF, and ON when only you need it. BUT typically 2 hours tends to be fair among laptops. (some of them claim to last 8 hours, but again we might be talking mac here).
are u supposed to keep battery plugged in? well, if you are in the office, i would say yes, since u never know when u need to leave and need it on the go.
would you wait until battery is almost drained and then recharge? I would not recommend it. note, if you do, make sure you allow enough time for "warning" before you computer goes to hybernate, or just shut down (settings in the power settings, icon of battery on the bottom right) or from the control panel.
good luck.

battery will last for quite a long time, but if it goes bad, you can always get a replacement.

Best to look on ebay using your laptop model and add the terms genuine / original. Using cheap chargers may damage your laptop.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop, model PCG-384L. It will not power up. My wife indicated that she push some button that lock the power. Can seem to find the button that controls or locks the power button. ...

Typically that flashing light means low battery. Which makes sense, as you probably have an issue with the AC Adapter that you plug into the computer to charge it, or the DC Jack that this adapter plugs into on the laptop. Either of these things will cause your computer to not charge the battery, and if there isn't enough power it won't turn on.

How to remove any added hardware and all removable media on Sony Vaio

You can remove added hardware from the OS but I doubt you could remove anything other that the Network card and CD player from the laptop itself. Laptops typically have everything built onto the motherboard for size reasons. If you want to physically remove the HD, Ram, CD, CPU or Wireless card you will have to open the various compartments on the Laptop base or disassemble the laptop. To remove them from the OS go to Control panel and click the Add/Remove Hardware.

Just bought new sony vaio ns laptop,if i nudge it slightly it keeps coming up with errors 1st was a windoes error then hard drive now it wont even lauch windows vista

Hello,

My advice is since you just brought new sony vaio ns laptop then please contact your supplier or store you buy the laptop then let them fix it for you since you still have the warranty period covered since you buy it from them. So to avoid the void of yourwarranty from your laptop then please return it to the supplier or to the store where you buy.

Thanks

Sony Vaio Laptop Battery - increase charge

Hi Sony battery,
did you mean to say that you battery only remain at 50% and never exceed this amont ??
Normally all the notebook if you keep charging it should come up to 100%, but only a few case that will face the problem
1.problem with battery itself.
2.problem with ac adapter (I face very much problem here not continues power suplly)
3.problem with motherboard the module that deal with charging battery.
Goodluck,takecare.
