Question about Brother MFC-620CN All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

When I plug my MFC620CN on no lights appear and nothing seems to happen. After about 2 minutes an electronic ticking noise starts slowly and then gradually increases in speed and intensity. All else seems dead.

When you plugin your printer it starts self test and during self test it finds that it cannot move the cartridge either due to dust on iron road or loose belt which moves the cartridge left and right. You shall put a little collin on cloth and clean that iron road and move the cartridge left and right manually by gripping that rubber belt. Also clear the sponge where the cartridges stop whatever extra ink is leaked out of cartridge is dumped there. Your printer is not starting because it is unable to complete self test. One more probability is take out both the cartridges and clean the back side of cartridge where it makes contact iwth ur printer. This is a routine maintenance which you shall perform once every 15 days. If any further assistance required you are most welcome.

In order to prevent this printer from accidentally being turned on, it will not come on if the power button is lightly or quickly pressed. Therefore, if the printer does not come on, press and hold the power button for a while.

Kenmore dryer 70 series 66722690 - has power but won't start (no humming noise, no ticking noise from timer, and no light when you open door) nothing!

I would check the breaker before you go any further. Here are some things to remember when you do this. 1) The breaker for the dryer is generally located outside on the side of the house somewhere near the electric meter. Most 220vac breakers are, which include any electric range, cooktop, wall oven, etc. 2) When your checking the breaker, actually physically touch it. Sometimes breakers can trip a but the spring that actually pulls the breaker to off position is weak and by visual inspection would appear on. Just simply reach in and tap the bar lightly in the off direction. If it pops over to the off position, turn it back on then go check your dryer. If the breaker passes inspection, I would unplug the machine because there migfht be a short at the terminal block where the plug connects to the dryer. After you've unplugged it, remove the back and check to see if everything is ok. I have a strong feeling that you won't need to get to this point cause I'm betting on breaker.

2003 dodge ram has light tick for a minute at cold start then goes away

The 'light tick' is most probably a valve lifter. The valve lifters in the engine are hydraulic, and are pressurized by the engine's oil pump.
When the engine gets some mileage, say 60 or 70 thousand miles or more, the engine is just not as tight as it once was. What happens is that the lifter loses its pressure when the engine is not running, because there is some wear. When you start the engine, the lifter takes a few moments to pressurize, and makers a ticking noise until it does. The 'ticking' is the sound of the valve being hit by the push rod, which is being pushed by the lifter. Once the lifter is pressurized, the 'ticking' sound stops. This is a very common thing for engines, it will eventually happen to nearly every one.
Sometimes, thin, old oil can cause this. If you have not changed the oil/filter in a while, you should do it now.

This is nothing to really worry about right now, but it is a sign of engine wear. Just be sure to run the proper oil in the engine, and do all the proper maintenance.

My Toastmaster TBR2 breadmaker does not mix and knead when started. The pan is positioned correctly, it is in P1 and the countdown timer is on 3:00. It makes a tick-tick noise but nothing happens. Why?

In cold weather many bread machines have to warm up for 15-20 minutes before they start. The clicking you hear is the heating element warming up.

Sounds like belt is broken. Open front cover and look at belt, if broke replace. If not broke try unplugging for 2 minutes, plug back in then open and close lid 7 times slowly, this should reset the electronic motor.

Car won't start

Nahh, its not that bad!
Its either your battery who is empty and need to be charged again or its the electronic box who need to be restarted.
Sometimes if the battery gets empty it can give the electronic box wrong signal, therefore it needs a restart, it can only be done at the ww service center. But try first to charge your battery, i think that will get your car to start again. The ticking noise and the non functioning door is because your empty battery.

You can either charge the battery (the best way to do it) or try to ger someone to tow your car to start and then drive for 45-50 minutes, thar will also charge your battery.

Good luck to you

Ticking is usually related to the horizontal output and the flyback with the flyback being more suspect. If you need more assistance please let me know
