Still the same, you will have to do what you did last time, first turn on your TV without connecting the direct TV dish , then connect the direct TV dish after turning it on, or try connecting a disc player or a video player select video input from which you have connected the player and see if your TV can power up, if still wont, there might be a setup problem on your TV

This seems to be TV internal circuit problem. It is quite possible to have loose connection on the TV circuit board, which co-ordinates between the display unit with the sound devices.

Consult a local guy who can fix this.

good luck.

It seems that your dish is not picking any signal or there might be obstacle in the path of the dish. This usually happen when there is lots of trees around.Try to plug a dvd to the tv and if it works then it's most probably your dish or digital box.Hope this helps..

When TV does not start, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that means that the TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

What to test with voltage meter for non working Sony TV.

There may be an internal fuse that has burned out, but opening the cabinet on a TV of any sort is a dangerous thing to do if you're not sure what you're doing!! This needs to go to a repair shop -- or the dump. (It's probably cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired.)

have you checked for dry joints or blown capacitors , with a power surge depending what kind voltage or amperage the circuit received it might have even blown screen connect it will certainly fry a lot of components ,have you looked for holes in capacitors ,resistors or burnt tracks between components . that's about all I can think of to check also some power panels have built in fuses to stop surges if you could obtain a circuit diagram that should help you also you could google your query and see if you get any assistance it costs nothing and you could get your TV up and running again . All the best .

Green light

Try plugging it into the wall direct. Sometimes if you have it plugged into a power strip with all kinds of other electronics like your DVD, XBOX, SOUND SYSTEM, Etc. it may not have enough surge power to start up.
