Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60XS955 60" Rear Projection HDTV
AFTER TURNING TV ON THERE IS A DOUBLE CLICK EXTRACTOR FAN STARTS UP FOR ONE SECOND SCREEN LIGHTS UP THEN INSTANTLY TURNS OF TO STANDBY MODE
I belive its ur lamp
One problem involves the lamp cage being loose. The fix is easy. All you do is remove the lamp and put it back in, making sure everything is tight. I guess they had a problem at the factory, for a while, not tightening the lamp cage. They're making these things as fast as the can, you know, in Mexico. After a certain number of heating cycles, the lamp quits making connection.
before we cud go in for a replacement lamp.... there are a few things u need to check
Have you reseated the lamp? Try this...Some times the connector is not being connected well and don't make the full connection.
Also try reopening the cover and putting it back, maybe the sensor for the lamp cover is not fully pressed in.......the door where the bulb is must not have been closed tight enough. open it, reseat the door, and screw it down tight.
it's the mechanical location of the switch behind the lamp door. By design, if the lamp door is not completely secured, the switch will not be depressed and therefore the TV will not start up for safety reasons. What's happening in some of the random shut-down events is the switch is bent a little bit, but just enough to prevent consistent contact even with the lamp door adequately secured. The fix is to turn off the TV, bend the switch out a little so it will make good contact when the door is closed, replace the door, then turn on the set.
The above fix has resulted in complete resolution for many people with this problem.
now i ll have to advice u to have all the safety precautions in place.... make sure the power is off before even ur opwning the unit.... and all necesssary precautions..... if ur not comfortable doing it urself... dont do it as tvs have very high voltage.... in that case i urge u to have a repairman or atleast someone who knows abt tv circuits to do the job....
shud u have to replace the lamp.......
