There is a small motor underneath the microwave which turns the plate or turntable around.
If this is faulty then you will need a service agent to repair it.

With the model number, we may have been able to give you a link to the actual service manual. Without it, we can only give you general answers.
The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes, then try it again.

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

In some brands, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

Turntable stopped rotating. Everything else works fine.

It sounds like the turntable motor has failed. It is a synchronus motor with a plastic gearbox reducing the RPM to about 5. The gears fail when the turntable dish is turned as the motor stalls the shafts.
Replacing the motor is no big deal.
There is usually an inspection cover that can be removed on the underside of the cavity.
Remove the cover and remove the motor.
Replace with the same type and the reverse procedure will fix it.
You may however require a self tapping screw to affix the cover back on. A bit of a puzzle but not too difficult to work out!
Hope this helps.

I would contact the manufacturer via info in your owner's manual.

If for some reason you don't have your owner's manual, I would suggest calling the dealer where you bought it to see if they have a number for them.

I have Emerson mcirowave model AT1120. Everything works fine except the turntable does not rotate. How can I fix this? thanks.

Not an Emerson answer, but a reasonable guess based on what I found working on other names:

Three reasons it will not rotate, 1) the motor does not get the command to rotate, 2) the motor gets the command but it is dead, 3) the little driver doojig is broken. This part locks to the motor with several interlacing fingers - pull it up to remove.

In my experience, you can replace the motor and you can replace the doojig that the motor turns to spin the plate.

I hope this helps you solve your problem.

Thanks

The table in our GE JVM1630 has stopped turning. Everything else is working just fine. Any suggestions.

Check the turntable motor by giving direct supply to it. If it is not working you have to replace the motor.

Does the turntable rotate? If everything but this works (except no heat), you probably have a bad door switch. Here's a discussion of what's involved in replacing it: http://www.fixya.com/support/t267796-kenmore_microwave_hood_combination_over

If the turntable does rotate, I'd suspect a more significant failure, such as the transformer, capacitor, or magnetron. If it's any of these, it's time to replace the unit.
