Question about Washing Machines

Frontloader will not accept hot water despite clear hose and filter, sufficient water pressure and clear filter at back of machine. Thus unable to get a warm water mix. Unclear if temperature switch electrics are faulty. Cold water wash ok.

Problem isolated to hot water inlet valve either stuck or solenoid has had it. Unable to safely get my meter on it until removal and may have to replace the 3 valve/solenoid setup as it may be one unit. With hot water only on and machine set to accept only hot water there is humming but no water entering the machine. Would appreciate if you can direct me to links where I may get a schematic diagram of this model or similar without paying for it. Thanks again Allan Smith

Sounds like the solenoid valve that lets the hot water onto the machine may have gone bad. If you have a way to measure voltage, find the valve, it should be close to the hot water inlet. Turn the machine on to fill with just hot water. See if you have voltage at the valve coil. Also, if you are filling with hot water only and there is no water coming in, o rvery little, this leads to the valve as well. If you get all cold water while trying to fill with hot, chances are you have a temperature control problem. Let me know what you find.

Bosch frontloader will not spin or agitate

You can check the following things in your washer:

1. Is the washer door or lid closed?
a. If yes, does it filled with water?
b. if no: Please contact the manufacturer to replace the door latch.
And if it is not filling properly then there is a water supply issues like: hot or cold faucets closed or not open completely, hot and cold hoses reversed, kinked or pinched fill hoses, plugged inlet screens or insufficient water pressure

On brand new machine the water pressure is ok (not great as we on low pressure) to back of machine but just dribbling out into tub... Model F&P MW612WH 6.5kg

hi - these machines wioll require sufficient pressure to operate - but low pressure to a certain degree should be fine - takes longer to fill..

Suggest you double check the hoses to the right valve hot/cold etc - usually there is a filter on the hose and one on the inlet valve, hopefully its not blocked.

I cannot see any other component that would be faulty - as you say its brand new...

No hot water

Not quite enough information to go on here ... the machine connects to hot and cold water or cold water only? If cold only, is it designed to heat its own water?

If connected to hot water ... some newer machines are dependent on sufficient water pressure. Check pressure of hot water is adequate at the tap (and that the water is hot). Check for a blocked filter in the water inlet house at the point of connection to the rear of the machine (remove the hose to check).

Why does the detergent compartment hold water after the cycle is complete?

It might be due to not having the washer properly leveled front to back and side to side, thus allowing some water to remain in the detergent dispenser. Check the washer for level with a good 3 foot or longer level and check across the front and back and then on each side and finally from each front corner to the opposite back corner. Level the washer by raising or lowering each leveling foot on each corner on the bottom of washer (or the pedestal units, if so installed) until the washer is properly leveled in all directions.

Once you've got the washer properly leveled, you shouldn't have much of a problem with residual water in the dispenser.

Rinse water barely trickles out of my washer

Do you fill the machine with hot water only?

If so, this is what I suspect. The filters in the inlet hoses on the back of the washer need cleaning. Remove the garden hose connectors, remove filter, clean, replace.

When filling with hot only you get a lot of pressure thru one hose. When you rinse, the best you can do pressure-wise is cold rinse -- but the cold water filter is going to be more clogged than the hot so it delivers less water.

When you use warm rinse, you get mediium pressure thru both lines, again less water than al hot on filling the machine.

Lg frontloader, washer is not getting sufficient water. hose is okay, is there an internal filter we can check?

Plug off the wall. Unscrew the hoses that bring water to the machine, check the fine meshes on hose as well as machine, clean out well with tooth brush (not yours), see that pressure is good in your wall socket. Refit carefully, check for leaks.

5 bar is a good pressure. worth while to check the valve filter as suggested. turn off water, remove hoses from machine. look down valve spigot and there is a mesh filter inset. remove with small pliers and clean
