Please check if the iPod is fully charged , if not allow it to charge for about 8 hours and then try if the fault repeats. If so the iPod must be connected to a PC and all the files must be scanned or removed. The format the drive and reload ONLY with safe files with which you can try once again.If fault appears the chances are the battery or the processor hanging up which might need technical help and consensus.

sorry! But, You have described your problem in full detail.
i think their must be a damage in your charges or your battery or the pins of your battery of ipod.
try cleaning both pins with a petrol or kerosine dipped cotton. Then again try to restart your ipod, after charging your battery..
other wise you have to show your ipod to a local repair centre. They will manage it after examining your problem and ipod itself!

Will not do anything, comes on when put on charge then flashes on and off the apple screen.

May b derz no enuf charge on d iPod.. keep it 4 charge 4 min 4 hrs n c.. Even after dat it does d same den try d five R's.. Goto www.apple.com n in d search field to d right top type as five r's.. Select ur iPod nano 3rd gen n it'l give d steps.. If not even after dese den'l tel ya oder steps..

if you have an Apple logo stuck on the screen) try the following sequence of steps:

Hold down Select / Menu (to reboot the iPod)
As soon as the Apple logo appears, hold down Rewind / Select until...
...you see a backwards Apple Logo.
At this point, you will have entered Diagnostic Mode. It'll test the RAM, and then tell you to HIT PLAY TO CONTINUE. Hit 'Play'.
You'll be in a menu that you advance by hitting FF (Fast Forward). Advance to the 'DISKMODE' entry.
Hit 'Select.' This will put you into Firewire Disk mode. The screen should change to the familiar 'Do Not Disconnect' mode. At this point, connect it to the computer.
Run the restore utility; it should now recognize the iPod and offer to Restore the factory software. Do so. You'll lose whatever's on it, but you'll avoid having to send it back in to Apple and pay them $49 or whatever to do basically the same thing. :-)

well if you turn it on and it just sits there and doesnt move or if it just doesnt turn on then i suggest try charging *** or hold down the play button with the center button at the same time but im not sure in just a kid but ive had simalar problems

Hold the menu button and the center button for 10-15 seconds. this will reboot your ipod. i had that problem too with my ipod classic 160gb limited edition and it worked
