At the top of the cyclone there are three screws, these are the star type so the correct driver is needed, this will be easy to get with a full set of electric screw/drill fittings. Anyway, very carefully take the three screws out and slowly lift off the top. There is an O ring so it may be just a bit tight. Take this out about six inches or 150mm and keep the long arm for the release mechanism supported. Now you will see the top of the cyclones. Make sure you have access to a compressed air gun and blow the six or seven holes clear. There may be a lot of dust so just be careful.

Reassemle in reverse, noting that one of the faces of the top is squared off so you can't fit it incorrectly. Good luck.

I have a Dyson I took out the screws to clean it before I opened the canister now I can not get it together again

You're a bit unclear on what screws you took apart to 'clean it'. If you took the canister apart, then this Snapguide page
How to Clean Dyson DC07 Canister goes through taking the top section thoroughly apart, and has some notes about things needing to line back up properly, which might help in the event that you're not getting things to snap back together right. I took mine apart solo after picking it up cheap at a flea market, and also recall reassembling the top took a little patience.

Good Luck!

Do not take it apart. If you do,it is then broken.Put about1/ cup of powdered dish washer detergent,in the bowl and fill with hot water.Let that soak for a few hours. And as the shampoo folks say, rinse and repeat,if needed. This also will clean tubs, toilets, and all ceramic tile very well.

I had the same problem, so I took out the black stopper, and soaked the whole thing in bleach water for about an hour, then I took a hand full of " aquarium " rocks and put them inside the tank, and shook them inside using a bit of the same water and then got rid of the rocks,( the rocks worked as an scrubber ) .... it worked pretty good

Water Tank

There is a heating element much like a radiator inside the handle unit that is clogged. The water travels from the tank thru the heater and back down to the jets. You'll need to take the heater apart to clean it. You may need to check the hoses to and from the water pump also.
