You might want to try a hard reset on the phone, it should put your phone back to normal if its a software issue, if its a hardware issue you might have to take the phone apart or send it in for repairs or warranty return.
You can hard reset your Motorola Droid if you want clear all of the data off of the device and start fresh. Here’s how it’s done.
1. Turn the Droid off. If it won’t turn off, take the battery out then place it back in.
2. Open the keyboard and press the X key while pressing and holding Power. The device will power on. Keep holding the buttons down until a yellow triangle appers.
3. Press the Camera and Volume Up buttons at the same time to get to the menu. (I had to press them several times).
4. Use the direction pad to the right of the keyboard to select the Format option.
- Turn off the Droid. If you are unable to turn off the Droid, remove the battery for 10 seconds, then replace it.
- Open the physical keyboard and press the X key while pressing and holding the Power Button. The device will turn on, keep holding these two buttons until a yellow triangle appears.
- Press the Volume Up and then the Camera button at the same time to get a menu to come up. You may have to press them more then once.
- You have now entered Recovery Mode.
- Use the Directional Pad on the Physical Keyboard to select theFormat option.
This should perform a factory reset of your device. You will of course lose all data. Please exercise caution before doing this without a backup.
* Note: Contacts, etc. should be backed up to the cloud, so you should be safe with your address book.
