Screen wont come on

Hello All,
i have had this unit for just over a year and now it went dead.. as a door knob,
i put it on the usb charger the light went solid red and left it over night in the morning still no power would not turn on, so i removed the battery and the camera was very warm but the battery was cool when i checked the voltage it was at 2.82v i charged the battery on a separate charger that i have and got the voltage up to 3.5v in 10 min, when i put it back in the camera it came back to life, it is working fine again, my guess is that when the battery discharged something in the charging system went bad,
going to charge it over night on theh sperate charger then run it down abit and see if the camera brings it back up with the USB charger once again, i thought to try this because i had an electric scooter for my son that did just that once the battery dropped below 5 v it would not charge it again till i booster the batterys back up to 11 volts.

In my case the microphone light came on, but the device could not work - was frozen for all functionality. I removed the battery and put it back in. Voila - functional again.

Does it only light up when you adapter is plugged in? If so try taking out the battery and making sure it is in correctly. Press the power button under the screen on the side if the unit and the middle circle in the directional key pad, there should be a menu that comes up.
