Hello All, i have had this unit for just over a year and now it went dead.. as a door knob, i put it on the usb charger the light went solid red and left it over night in the morning still no power would not turn on, so i removed the battery and the camera was very warm but the battery was cool when i checked the voltage it was at 2.82v i charged the battery on a separate charger that i have and got the voltage up to 3.5v in 10 min, when i put it back in the camera it came back to life, it is working fine again, my guess is that when the battery discharged something in the charging system went bad, going to charge it over night on theh sperate charger then run it down abit and see if the camera brings it back up with the USB charger once again, i thought to try this because i had an electric scooter for my son that did just that once the battery dropped below 5 v it would not charge it again till i booster the batterys back up to 11 volts. hope this helps! Cheers David.

Re: screen wont come on
Does it only light up when you adapter is plugged in? If so try taking out the battery and making sure it is in correctly. Press the power button under the screen on the side if the unit and the middle circle in the directional key pad, there should be a menu that comes up.

The first thing you can do if an error occurs with any camera, is switch it of. Check no light is burning or flashing. (this means the camera is still accessing the memory and switching off will damage the file system) Then remove the battery. Wait a few seconds and than reinsert the battery. This will force the camera to start from scratch.
While the battery is out, toy also can check if the memory card is inserted correct an if all contacts are still clean and shiny. (battery and memory contacts, the ones in the camera too)
Cleaning of contacts, only with a dry cloth or cotton swab(s). Never use anything sharp in or close to a camera.
I wish you luck.
Just right of the bottom of the screen there is a little button called display. If you press that button during recording mode, you can cycle through different information on the screen. One is NO DISPLAY. others are like just the frame you want to tale a picture of, one is with the picture and information about the light, one with lines and so on. Just press the button several times to cycle through all these displays. It is on page 61 of the manual.
hi...ensure that the camera is turned on. If applicable, ensure the
lens cover has been removed before taking pictures. the LCD backlight
is turned on by pressing the DISPLAY button several times until the
screen appears. Depending on the camera model, the DISPLAY button may
be labeled as DISP or with a display icon. This button could be a
standalone button or it depends upon the camera model..... If operating the camera with a battery, ensure the battery is fully charged. Ensure the battery is inserted properly in the camera. If operating the camera with the power adapter, ensure it is plugged into a working AC outlet. Ensure
no Audio/Video (A/V) cables are connected for viewing pictures on a TV;
the LCD screen will not display when an A/V cable is connected. Perform a reset procedure on the camera....
maybe this works: turn your camera on in play mode (if you have play button press it to turn on camera) and if your camera hase a shoot-play switch select play mode and then turn your camera on.)
repeat this until lens goes back.
I hope this works...
I have same printer. No manual. Guess it's too simple and the creators don't think general public need instructions! I am using a Canon S1 camera. My camera screen said to press the "SET" button to print the picture that I had on my camera screen. It worked for me!!! Good luck. I'm guessing printer only prints from a camera, hence it's portability.
There is a display button on most cameras that you can turn the LCD on and off to conserve battery. Some people like to use the viewfinder so this option is put into some cameras. If the display button is pressed before you turn it off it may save the "last known settings" so every time its turned on and off its still in that state. Look for a menu button or a display button see if you can get it to come back up.
Some have a tv out, you could try and plug it into a tv to use as a monitor if it wont come back up. It could be cracked from an impact or the illumination light could be bad. Cracked LCDs are fairly common so thats possible.
