My windows mail is asking for user and password.

Windows mail needs to know what your email username and password are.
Your username should be the beginning part of your email address (part before the @)(sometimes you need to enter your entire email address here though)
and you should know what your password is.

BellSouth is your Internet Service provider (ISP), but your user name and password with windows mail are not necessarily the same as those you used with your isp.
Also make sure your user name includes the ISP, i.e. @bellsouth.net or whatever it is, and try not to give your address out in public forums online, or you're liable to get a lot of spam...
