When this happens it is usually a symptom of a piston that is gummed up and stuck in the cylinder. Sometimes it will free itself if you keep trying. Try spraying some carbeurator cleaner into the air cleaner. Remove the air filter and spray directly into the air intake.

Then pull the cord again. Hopefully it will turn over for you and then the carb. cleaner will be able to dissolve the crud.

You need to take the top cover off the engone. under there you will find the points, if you take a match book flap and slide it between the flywhel and points(adjust points to fit snug to flywheel) and this will get you to at least start the mower. find out what the gap is to be set and set points accordenly. I hope this helps.

Pull Cord Stops...

could be valve needs set. if it isn't opening at the right time it wont release compression for it to start. it may be the shear key in the flywheel has sheared if you have hit something like a big rock or log or something causing it to die suddenly.

Yard machine Y25-line spindle does not turn when pull cord is pulled

When you say it doesn't 'turn' when you pull the pull chord, do you mean the engine wont pull over or is hard to pull over.?? Possibly partially seized. Remove the exhaust and check the piston isn't scored..

My Homelight 26b MightyLite leaf blower is so hard to pull start I have to put my foot on it to steady it. I pulled the spark plug and now it pulls so easily I can pull the start just holding the uni

Compression is what makes it hard to pull start.
It should be like that.
Try holding the Draw/Pull Cord tight to your stomach and push the Blower away from you.
Kind of like throwing the blower down & away, but holding on to it.
That might be easier than pulling the cord and will save your arm.
Good luck !

My pull cord rips out of my hand

The string assembly should reach a point far enough out when you pull the cord that it lets it spin free of the engine. What you are probably experiencing is the engine kick-back, where the engine is compressing the air/gas in the cylinder, and the pressure pushes the engine back. The crankshaft is connected to the pull cord assembly, so it's pulling out of your hand. You may not be pulling hard enough, or the cord assembly needs replacing.

Excell vr2522 pull cord jammed

Is the garden hose connected and turned on?If so make sure that the trigger on the gun is being pulled while your trying to start the engine! The backed up pressure in the high pressure hose can mimic a blown or seized engine in this situation.

Generator hard to start. Kick back

This sounds like the timing is off. Remove the spark plug and pull the cord to see if there is less tension. If there is less tension then you know that the pull cord is fine. Do a compression check on the cylinder, it should be around 100psi. Remove the valve cover and check to see if valves are moving when your pulling the cord. The valves could have came off the rockers.
