With the style of transfer case you have, just make sure your 4x4 shifter is matching
the gate to the transfer case detent, if ok, there is a mux switch sensor
mounted on top of transfer case, drivers side, replace the sensor, moisture
has ruined it, you will need to lift the vehicle up and drop the rear cross
member, use a floor jack, let hang enough to get your hand up there
and replace the sensor.
There is a position sensor located in the top of the transfer case, the sensor is most likely stuck in that position. The only repair is to replace the sensor.
There are two in the front, one on each wheel and the rear might have one in the pumpkin.
The one in the top of the rear axle is the main speed sensor, the front sensors are only there if it has 4 wheel abs.
The vehicle speed sensor is located on the top of the rear axle.
Pre 1998 the speed sensor signal comes from the back of the trans/transfer case. 1998 and later the speed sensor signal comes from the rear axle speed sensor.
you have a bad or faulty sensor that communicates the 4wd position to the dash the sensor is on the top front of the transfer case. Find a large open area and drive in reverse for about 500 feet then put car in drive and pull forward this might enable the sensor to know what position the transfer case is in The transfer case is connected to the transmission and also to the front and rear axles by means of drive shafts. If this doesn't work change you sensor on the top front of your transfer case. hope this helps you please rate me and for further assistance you can always ask me.
SC442 Transfer belt contact error
The transfer belt contact sensor does not detect the movement of actuator at the sensor while the polygon motor rotates.
• Dirty transfer belt contact sensor
• Defective transfer belt contact motor
• Disconnected connector of transfer belt contact sensor or motor
• Disconnected cable
1. Replace the transfer belt contact sensor.
2. Replace the transfer belt contact motor
This printer is same as Samsung CLP-500. So the problem is the same: Contaminated transfer belt sensor.
Do as follow:
Lift transfer belt assy from printer(Drop down back door 90 degree, press white button, lift top cover and release 2 locking levers, grab handle, pull the belt unit out), turn upside down & rotate plastic roller until small clear "window" appears along one edge of belt. Clean both sides of clear window with cotton bud. on same side as window, remove 2 screws securing flimsy plastic cover to gain acess to sensor, (follow red/black wires)remove a screw and pull out "U" shaped sensor(light transmiter and receiver), cotton bud and blow away dust on slits on inner surfaces of sensor. Reassamble and everything should be ok.If not, senser may be too contaminated, clean slits vigorousley with cotton bud, or maybe you just need a new sensor.
The theory is that printer detect transfer belt by transmit light through the clear "window". If either window not clear or sensor is contaminated, light will not reach the receriver part of the sensor, printer will report such errors.
