Question about Flat Panel Televisions
The green "power" light turns on momentarily, but the TV fails to come on all the way. When I press the remote or the Power button on the remote or TV unit itself, I get the same result. The set "clicks" and the light comes on as if it is going to "turn over" and start, but nothing happens. This is the first time it has happened and I've had the set for a year and eight months.
SOURCE: No power -- TV will not turn on
This could be the power supply baord / Bad Caps/ They will be puffed up..
Or if the inverter board is bad** Inverter board lights the backlights.

SOURCE: I have LG 50PC1DR plasma
Without testing I wouldn't suggest the Power supply is not defective: 1st, the control module is working because you gave it an ON command, 2nd the SMPS has received the the start up. The secondary voltages for the Y sustain and Z sustain modules are shutting down, probably due to a shorted IPM on either of the two modules mentioned. This problem is one you should contact your nearest svc center for a complete diagnosis. If I can be of any other assistance please e-mail me.

SOURCE: No power to TV
Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. Or, it can be something simple like a burn fuse inside that needs replacing.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.
I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

I have the same problem. since I have 3 of these TV's, I switched boards around, and I came to the conclution that is the power board. I will try to repair it, and I'll let you know the component that is bad. Gaston

Our 37" Magnavox was having the same issues posted here. Blinking light. My husband and I FIXED it for only $5 and an hour of our time. People stop complaining and give it a try. What do you have to loose? It was a very easy fix.You will need to remove the old capacitor, solder the two wires on the new one in then put it all back together. That is it. If you feel unsure about where to put parts back, take pictures for review. I used the same 2200 @ 35v capacitor like the person that posted the pics. Very helpful by the way.
