My fax machine will send a fax, but I can't receive a fax?

The fax machine may be in secure receiving mode. The following is from the User's Manual section on Faxing. downloadcenter samsung com

Receiving in secure receiving mode

You may need to prevent your received faxes from being accessed by unauthorized people. You can turn on secure receiving mode to restrict printing of received faxes when the machine is unattended. In secure receiving mode, all incoming faxes go into memory. When the mode is deactivated, any stored faxes are printed.

Activating secure receiving mode

  1. Press btn_fax.png(Fax) on the control panel.

  2. Press Menu until Advanced Fax appear.

  3. Press the left/right arrow until Secure Receive appear and press OK.

  4. Press the left/right arrow until On appear and press OK.

  5. Enter a four-digit password you want to use and press OK.

You can activate secure receiving mode without setting a password, but cannot protect your faxes.

  6. Re-enter the password to confirm it and press OK.

  7. Press Stop/Clear to return to ready mode.

When a fax is received in secure receiving mode, your machine stores it in memory and shows Secure Receive to let you know that there is a fax received.
Printing received faxes

  1. Access the Secure Receive menu by following steps 1 through 3 in "Activating secure receiving mode."

  2. Press the left/right arrow until Print appear and press OK.

  3. Enter the four-digit password and press OK.

The machine prints all of the faxes stored in memory.

Deactivating secure receiving mode
  1. Access the Secure Receive menu by following steps 1 through 3 in "Activating secure receiving mode."

  2. Press the left/right arrow until Off appear and press OK.

  3. Enter the four-digit password and press OK.

The mode is deactivated and the machine prints all faxes stored in memory.

  4. Press Stop/Clear to return to ready mode."

My fax machine can't receive message, "fax memory full" to erase the fax memory?

It will depend on the model and make and you have not supplied that information.
If this information in memory was received information then the machine should print out the documents as long as there is nothing in the display saying it needs toner, paper etc, etc.
If it is not received information in memory then it can only be scanned information for copying or transmitting....again, not knowing make or should be able to use your users manual and delete the pages you have stored into memory.

How to save numbers

Your machine can store up to 30 numbers. To store numbers, use the following process:
  1. Press functioni button once
  2. Press right arrow > once
  3. Assign a two digit speed dial number or press the right arrow (machine will suggest a 2 digit speed dial number
  4. Enter the fax number (use speaker button if a mistake is made to clear)
  5. Press Start/Memory button
  6. Go to Page 28 in user manual
At this point, there's a chart for entering names for the fax numbers which can be found in the owners manual at this link:

After the name has been entered, press Start/Memory button to Store and press Stop button to leave the process.
Best of luck and hope I helped.

First, you may be dealing with two separate and distinct problems - or did they both start happening at the same time? In regard to the beep on scanning of faxes, the first thing to check is the machine memory. If you are storing documents, there is a limit of 30 documents (60 pages maximum). If the memory is not sufficient to allow for scanning the material you are attempting to fax, this will create that error. You should still be able to send the fax manually (directly) rather than through memory, if you need to retain all the documents in memory.

Regarding the paper jam, make sure you have checked every area of the machine for any little scrap of paper or other residual that may have been left in the machine along the way. As you have the manual, follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions to make sure everything is clean and in proper working order.

Then, I would also suggest that you physically unplug the unit from the power source for at least five minutes, if the problem has not been solved. Then plug it back in and see if this has cleared the internal error. If it is not cleared, your FINE cartridge should be checked and/or changed, and the manual gives good instruction on this as well. Make sure your paper is of proper quality and is not bent or sticking together, etc. According to Canon, if these things do not solve the problem, the unit may need service. However, please let me know where we stand and we'll see what else we might try if this does not resolve your issues.

If this information assists you in resolving the problem, please take a moment to rate the solution at a "FixYa" level. If you do not feel that you can rate at a "FixYa", please post back with more information regarding what has occurred subsequently, and I will gladly help you until we have reached a definitive solution. Thank you for using and rating FixYa!

Print from Memory

Check and see if your fax has a power save button next to your LCD screen. Pressing it will store everything into memory or you could do a flash memory clear however you will lose everything that is stored in memory(RX and TX only). Press FUNCTION , 9,*,8,#,7 then press start, next press your # key to scroll to flash memory. Press start. This should fix it.

You can selectively clear information stored in your machine’s memory.
1. Press Setup on the control panel. The display shows the first menu;
2. Press ➛ or ❿ until ‘MEMORY CLEAR’ appears, then press
Start/Enter. The display shows the items you can choose to clear.
• FAX NUMBER/NAME : your fax number and name are cleared from
the machine’s memory.
• DIAL/SCHEDULE : clears the one-touch, speed dial, or group dial
numbers stored in the memory. In addition, all

• JOURNAL : clears all records of transmissions & receptions.
• DEFAULT SETUP : restores all the option settings to factory default.

Only clear de Journal, don't clear the other.
Try this if it resolve the problem.
