Question about Fender Music
My fender mini body bass is playing for about a minute and then crackling and shorting out and going silent. i have checked the wires and cleaned everything i can think of but it is still doing it.
It sounds to me that you need to fix the input on the bass (where you plug in), sometimes just tightening the nut will do it, or buying a new one and replacing.

Inspect the wires leading to the 1/4" jack on the bass. Try moving
them to see if you can figure out which wire is the culprit. Check for
any bad solder joints on the pots inside the guitar.
Chances are the jack has been twisted and damaged a wire and/or a solder joint.
