Question about HP Computers & Internet

I have an HP Pavilion a1777c with a blank monitor

I have an HP Pavilion a1777c with a GeForce 7500LE video card. My computer turns on but the monitor is blank and says ''no signal''. I have checked it with another monitor and it says the same thing. I have gone through the HP troubleshooting and think maybe I need a new video card? is it a PCI or AGP card that I need? Do you think that this will solve my blank monitor?

We replaced the power supply to a more powerful one (400 Watts) and put in a new card and nothing happened.  I put the original card back in as it seems to be fine.  Does this mean its a problem with the mother board?

The computer turns on but there is no music or beeps like normal.  The power light comes on but the screen says no signal.

Try reseating the video card to see if it fixes the problem.
If it doesn't the the video card is faulty, take the card to your computer shop and get a replacement that matches the specification of your faulty video card, the card would most likely be an AGP card.
On the motherboard you can identify the AGP slot/connector (brown colored) because it does not match the other PCI slots (white colored).

If the computer is starts up normally other than the no-video problem (that is, you hear all the normal sounds from the computer and the usual Windows startup music), then you probably do need a new video card. According to HP's spec page for the motherboard used, you'll need a PCI-E video card. Don't confuse this with a regular PCI card which has a different connector.

The spec page also says the board has integrated graphics. so you could remove any video card that's been installed and try booting with the built-in video. If everything else is working properly you can use that until you get a new expansion video card.

If the trouble is that the computer's not booting at all even though it's coming on, you'll need to figure out why. This might be a memory or video problem, although these usually cause some beep code if the motherboard gets into its POST (power on self-test). If nothing at all happens, this is often the sign of a bad power supply, processor chip or system board.

No video on HP S3421P video. verified monitor is working. is there a replacment?

Hi there,

it would be premature to replace a video card, when it has not been tested to be faulty.

Please take the computer to a local professional so the machine can be properly inspected.

THIS WILL SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY, you do not want to replace parts that are not faulty.

Can i use two monitors with my hp pavilion a1340n desktop computer,it has windowx xp in it

With the factory provided hardware no. There are options like an external video card or purchasing an internal video card with two output interfaces. Your pavillion comes with an available PCI-Express slot for installations of this type of hardware and there are a lot of very affordable options like the Geforce GT420

Hi there you need to make sure the monitor is properly connected and make sure you install the drivers for the new video card.If you still have the problem you should open the computer and check the memory by taking it out and put in into another memory slot on the motherboard. If you have more than one memory in the computer please take them out one at a time and restart the computer if that does not work you should replace them you new one that is compatible with your computer.

F1903 not turning on with tower when restarting

Get a PCI or VGA video Card!

I'd recommend at least somethin like a

nVidia GeForce 7300 GT (256mb) Video Card
You can get one for dirt cheap on Newegg.com
Or your local PC store/Repair shop.

The Problem you are having is your Video Card Driver isn't the correct one, or it's got issues...
You should get a better video card.....yours might be onboard or really low-end rated.

HPs ****, but not as bad as a Dell (Dell does make the best pre mf 'd Servers which is ironic!)

Setting up dual monitors with NVIDIA 7300 GS Graphics Adapter

so...
your computer don't recognize your nvidia graphic card in PCI Express slot.
you are runing now with computer's integrated graphic card?
if so then you won't have dualview option. in this case it looks for me like you've installed in the wrong way your graphic card.

your NV GeForce 7300 GS has 2 video output?
if yes then you should have the option for 2 monitors on nVIDIA control panel (i have check my nVIDIA GeForce 7600gt and in my case this option is present but is enabled only if i connect the second monitor, so try do so)

you have installed the latest nVIDIA drivers from the official website? http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

check if your video card is corect installed start/run type in " devmgmt.msc ". it will open device manager and under the display adapter tab you should see what video card you use now.

Computer turns on but i have no image on monitor

If your monitor is working, try taking all add-on cards out of your system to see if your monitor comes on. (Sound cards, modem, Network cards, etc.) If after doing this you still get no picture, very strong possibility your video card (on-board) is bad.

Monitor won't work with new computer

The computer in question has two graphics cards in it. A GEForce 8400GS Graphics card and an onboard graphics card. It could be possible you are plugging the monitor cable into the wrong graphics card slot. The onboard graphics card slot may be a different color than the GEForce graphics card slot. Check the back of the computer to see if there is another spot to plug in the monitor.
