Heater will not start up. If I turn the unit or the themostat off, then back on it works fine. But only last for a week to 10 days.

Probably, the heat sensor.....looks like a thermo coupler..
It's a PITA to get to though, I had to undo the 6 screws holding the burner fixture on...
If you have it mounted horizontal like I do, then there are 2 screws up top (outside the burner, but inside the whole unit) 2 screws right by the burners, and 2 underneath, (same as top 2)
Then it allows the whole burner fixture to move around, circuit board etc.
Watch when you undo it that you don't pull the 4 wires off that are hooked to the main unit (don't know exactly what they go to, just that they were tight)
Take steel wool, or sand paper, emery paper etc...and sand it off, just like you would at your house..
Why they couldn't make it easier to get to, I just don't know
Hope this helps..If you need anything more email me at

We have yellow flame is that a problem

haven't had much to do with this type of heater but a yello9w falme is usually reducing the oxygen from the gas by the the air mixer on some flame effect fires they cover air holes on burner to get the flames yellow the only problem is they can carbon up from this in a heater you don't look into flames this may be ok but i would check the burner air mixture hole if has one but that smost likely the reason for yellow flame not blue so its probably no problem carbon in heat exchanger will make heat transfer a bit slower so probably best to try and fix

My heater fired up ran like normal then the burner shut off and the fans stayed running it is flashing code #4 hi temp over limit swith how do i reset ???

If the unit is like the one pictured then you have to switches that may have to be reset. One is located
near the burners and the other probably in same

These switches are a bimetal disc held in by two screws and usually will have to wires going to it. in
between where the two wires clip on is a button usually red, Make sure you push it in.

If the furnace is different than the on pictured give more detail

Mr. Heater Natural Gas Garage Heater - 45,000 BTU. Power 120 volt and 24 volt good. Thermostat calling for heat, but nothing happening??

Check for a fuse either in-line or on the circuit board. There should be 24 volts going to the thermostat. If not, you have either a bad transformer or a bad thermostat wire. Jump out the terminals that the thermostat wires are connected to. This should force the unit to fire. If not, bad circuit board.
