Question about Uniden Cordless Phone
How can i get this fixed, all of my phones in the house are affected - even the ones that are not a part of this dual set. i checked to see if any of my phones were off the hook and they are not/ Help - i cant call out or receive calls
Go to the NID (network interface device) on the side of the house and open the customer side.
plug a telephone that you KNOW is working into the customer test port.
if the 'phone works then you have a different 'phone that is bad or a short in a jack or wire.
if the 'phone doesn't work (you still hear ROH tone or just battery but no dialtone) then the problem is with the 'phone company.
if something is messed up inside... unplug all 'phones and modems. if you get dialtone, plug in each station and listen untill you go back to off-hook... and then you will know what is shorted.
if you don't get dt with all the 'phones unplugged then you have a bad station wire or jack. disconnect all the station wires at the NID or other bridging block and test for a short with an ohm meter.
