Radio has power the display button works but radio will not play

You either have a blown speaker or the amplifier in the radio has gone bad. Sometimes a blown speaker will act as an additional ground thus grounding out the radios internal amp. Check your speaker by hooking them to an external audio source. If you do have a blown speaker once it is removed all working speakers should play. Speakers should be replaced in pairs. If they all work its the radio itself. It will need to be replaced.

2006 infiniti m35 no sound from speakers

Yes an amp that is not working could cause this to happen. But I would check it out a little more because when you did the speaker test and all the speakers worked then that doesn't sound right. Find the amp and it could be just a loose connection that is giving you all these problems. Good Luck

When playing from the AUX (i.e. iphone), can't hear from both speakers, only one; but when playing from a CD, the sound is fine. Any suggestions/advice/help? The odd thing is that if I press down

hi, seems like you may have a faulty aux jack socket(if the socket is mounted onto the face) or you may have some dry joints on the socket, or even a cracked pc board around the aux socket connections. also try cleaning the face connection pins both on the unit and on the face. if you not technically minded, check out you jvc repair center. cheers!

Sound problem

You have a shorted speaker or a speaker with a bad voice coil. This has been confirmed by the fact that the audio amplifier is shutting down (protection) but the unit stays powered on. The speakers will play for a few seconds or maybe even longer at lower volume, but any length or time or an increase in volume will immediateley shut off sound. This is due to the fact that a shorted speaker wire/connection will ground out or short to one another. If you have checked all connections behind the radio AND at the speakers and found no problems, then it is a voice coil on the speaker. A shorted voice coil will work until the speaker cone moves causing the short or until enough power passes through the voice coil's short to turn off the radio.
1. You can use a voltmeter set to check continuity to test for a speaker short. Disconnect all speakers from the radio and connect one side of your meter to ground and the other to the speaker lead. An audible "beep" will confirm a short.
2. The other method would be to disconnect all speakers and re-connect them one by one until the radio's sound output shuts off again. This will be your shorted speaker.
I hope this information was helpful.

No sound.

Disconnect speakers one by one and reset the unit each time. If the speaker is blown, or the wires are frayed, it will shut down the internal amp. Also check the fuse in the back of the radio first, it should be near the wire harness. Power cycle the unit as well, unplug it from the power source, plug it back in. Hope this helps.
