it took a while to power on now there is no picture or sound

but now when i turn it on all it shows is a black screen like if it didnt even turn on and it makes a ticking noise all the time.
I opened the back to see if anything looked wrong but i dont know anything about fixing tv's so i didnt bother messing with it.
Does anyone know whats wrong with it
