-   What is the sence then if you cannot work with the universal remote. Stupid! best if we advertise your product tell people about it. So you can take it off the market. lose other customers. I live in the caribbean i got my from America the person cant find the remote what should i do the DVD. You are a set of looooosers you need to get off the market. i can tell you others will here about this stupid brand call COBY. -   deedainty

From Coby's website in the FAQ section:

2-12 What is the code to program my Universal remote with my Coby DVD player There is no code to program our DVD players with your Universal remote, you need to use the remote that came with the player.
Unfortunate, and frustrating, as I am in the same boat as you are,

I sucessfully programed the AUX button on my Cable remote to my Coby DVD player (model DVD-227) using code 21107. You can also try these codes: 20778, 21086, 21351.

buy yourself a GE 94221 universal remote (Home depot $6) and use DVD code 0947 to control the Coby dvd 224.
