Question about Acer Computers & Internet
My cd rom doesn't read disks anymore
sounds like it loads, then it stops
It worked once earlier today, now nothing.
i tried to fix it my self
so far this is what i found
YELLOW exclamation point- not working properly
i did a scan- no virus
no newer version- im up to date
I didn't disable or uninstall it
Please help i don't know what to do
I would like to know the cd rom is broken, do i have to replace it with only ACER parts?
Try uninstalling first. Reboot & see if the drive gets reinstalled automatically. If it does try cleaning with a good quality cd cleaner and see if it will read a known good cd. If it does need replaced you can replace it with an industry stamdard drive as long as it has the same interface as the old drive, ie. SATA or IDE. Hope this helps.
