Do this:

- Make sure the autofocus button in the front of the camera is set to AF
- Make sure your AF switch in your lens (if it has one) is turned ON

Vivitar 84mm 1.4 aspherical on Nikon D80

If you mean the 85mm, it's not an autofocus lens. Nor does it have the electronics to communicate with the camera. You need to set the camera to manual exposure mode (turn the mode dial to M) and set the exposure manually. Set the shutter speed by turning the command dial on the back of the camera and the aperture by turning the aperture ring on the lens.

Again, this is a manual lens. No auto-anything. But it's a nice fast lens, with shallow depth of field when you want it.

Engine stalls on highway starts after 15 min

Sounds like the same problem I have been having with my 2002 Sedona for
the past 6 or 8 months. It would run OK for several days, weeks, or months,
then just quit. If I let it set for 10 to 20 minutes, it would restart and run fine
for at least the rest of that day. About 2 weeks ago, I was fortunate that it happened when someone was with me, so I was able to determine that it
was not getting any spark. Since then the problem has gotten worse and
more frequent - it was happening almost every day and would take over
1/2 an hour before it would start again. This morning was the last straw.
I drove for about 4 miles and it quit. Took 1 hour and 10 minutes before it
would restart. Drove another 2 miles and did it again. This time it took
1 hour 35 minutes before restart. After 1 more mile, it quit again. Took 2
hours, this time. Made it another mile and BAM! - did it again.
My bro towed me home. I determined that it is most likely NOT the crankshaft position sensor, because 99% of the time they either work,
or they don't. Very rarely does it cause in intermittant problem. The most
likely suspect is the engine computer. That was always a likely culpret
when I worked on GM cars. Today I installed a $50 junk yard engine control computer. I am crossing my fingers!
I will know on Thursday, as I have a 50 mile trip to make.
I will post again on Thursday, to let you all know.

Only way i caan recover is with a disc so if i can figure out hoe to add epartition to c i can reformat and just have factory look again

Good luck trying a recovery with discs. More times than not they don't work. You don't have to worry about setting up Partition C. If you boot from the Recovery Disc, it should take care of setting up the drive for you.

What digital nikon cam works autofocus in a nikkor micro AF 105mm f/2.8D?

This lens lacks the autofocus motor, so it will only autofocus on cameras with the motor. This lens will autofocus on every Nikon digital SLR except for the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000, and D5100. It will autofocus with the D1 family, D2 family, D3 family, D50, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300, D300s, and D700 (I hope I haven't left any out).

Hi there, My Hyundai ix35 has the bluetooth console and my owner's manual is for the non-bluetooth version. As a result, the way to set the clock is not in the manual and not obvious. Unfortunately I can't...

Nice & easy- Have your radio switched on. Push & hold the volume knob for 3 seconds. It should now say Initial volume setting (or something of the like), scroll to the right & it should say clock setting, press the volume knob again. Turn the knob to change the hour figure, press the volume knob again for minutes and press the knob again to set.

Hope that this helps

For the Kids Only Digi Pet, how do you turn it off? If it can't be turned off, can it be muted? I've tried adjusting the "Lights" setting, but it still seemed to beep.

You have to put it in pause mode. From the beginning, where your pet is moving around: 1) Press enter 2) Press enter again, at index 3) Press left arrow once,
to pause mode 4) Press enter, at pause 5) Press left arrow once, to on
6) Press enter, at on [now it is paused and muted] 7) Then press enter again
later, to undo your pause and continue playing with your pet.

Won't autofocus

First thing I would do is clean the contacts on the camera and the lens. Do you have this issue with another lens, if not then it is not the camera. If you do then recheck the lens. You could call Nikon Digital as well at 1-800-645-6689
