How do I remove the front cover off a Frigidaire Through-the-Wall Room Air Conditioner with Supplemental Heat unit? (FRA10EHT2, FRA12EHT2, FRA14EHT2)

Here's how to do it:
1. Remove the filter right behind the front grill. The top of the filter sticks out just a bit right under the movable louvers. Pull it towards you just a bit and upward to remove. See the care instructions that came with the AC unit if you still need help with this.
2. Behind where the top of the filter was, there are two screws, one at each end that hold the grill to the chassis. Remove these.
3. Face the side of the unit. Just where the leading edge of the plastic grill meets the sheet metal casing and up about a third of the way up from the bottom, there is a hidden tab on the plastic that engages a slotted hole in the metal. With your thumb, press in on the sheet metal about 1/8" while pulling gently up on the plastic grill. The tab in the grill holding it to the sheet metal case should release. Do this for the other side of the AC unit as well, and now the bottom of the grill should lift up.
4. Pivot up the grill. There are 4 tabs in the top edge of the grill that grab onto detents in the sheet metal housing. The grill will pivot up around those as a hinge. Lift the grill up about 45?.
5. There is a wire harness between the front electronic controls and the main board located in a metal box. Gently pull the wires and cable out of the box until the connector is exposed. Disconnect the connector.
6. You can now remove the grill from the sheet metal case. However, disengaging it from the sheet metal case may be difficult as when the grill pivots, the plastic tab hooks under the metal. You might try sliding a wooden popsicle stick between the plastic and the metal to raise the plastic enough for the tabs to clear the metal of the slots. Don't use a typical metal screw driver or you will damage the painted finish of the AC unit. You might find the following easier to do.
7. If you need to remove the sheet metal case as well, go ahead and remove all the screws that hold it to the chassis. There are a number on the top, sides and back. Unscrew and remove all of those. Then remove the grill and the metal case together. You should be able to separate the plastic grill from the casing more easily.
8. If like me, you need to straighten out the bent sheet metal of the chassis and the metal case (bent in shipping to me), I found using channel-type pliers with the teeth covered with a piece of towel to prevent scratches to the finish worked well.
9. Reassemble the unit in the reverse manner. Those tabs at the top of the plastic grill, since they are chamfered, can easily be pushed onto the metal case (i.e. they go on much easier than they came off). Just line up the grill square with the casing and push straight back.
10. If you find you have a couple of extra screws, check the back side near the top for two screws holes that are easy to overlook.

Note: after installing the AC unit into the through-the-wall sleeve and turning the unit on, it took about 3 minutes for the compressor to kick on and the unit to start cooling. I think this is part of the built-in compressor or circuit protection in case the unit is tipped or moved.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Grease filters change from the bottom side of the unit.

Charcoal filter is changed as follows:
To Remove Charcoal Filter
To remove the charcoal filter, disconnect power
at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel or
pull the plug.
Remove the top grille by removing the screws
that hold it in place and sliding the grille to the
left (opening the door makes grille removal
easier). Slide the filter towards the front of the
oven and remove it.
To Install Charcoal Filter
To install a new filter, remove plastic and other
outer wrapping from the new filter.
Insert the filter into the top opening of the oven as
shown. It will rest at an angle on 2 side support tabs
and in front of the right rear tab. Replace the grille
and screws.

DISMANTLING SAMSUNG D840

you have acted correctly up to this point. Now free the button pads on both sides from were they are stuck down they are attached to the main board so be gentle you only need to move them off the plastic boards they are fixed to.Now remove the grey square of tape in the battery compartment and unplug the little black wire from the main board it just lifts off. now lift up the main board from the battery compartment end and as you lift it a plug in flex will detach itself turn the main board up at an angle and you will see the flex attachment underneath.Take the green plastic off and flick the hinge to remove the flex,it is soldered on both sides like a lot of samsungs but if your replacing the flex just tear it and work on it when the board is removed. This next part is where you can go realy wrong ignore all the screws that you can see open the slide of the phone and remove the covers that conceal the 2 screws at the top of the phone remove them now with the slide fully open you will see 2 holes at the bottom of either side of the slide look in and you will see 2 screws that hold the bottom of the screen cover remove them.now the slide section will easily be removed from the screen section you may have to operate the slide slightly to allow the flex to exit then you have easy access to the flex on the screen attachment .Rebuild in reverse taking note on how the flex is bent as its crucial to the slide operating smoothly

Ionic pro sizzles and crackles when I turn it on. it doesn't crackle constantly but, it like slowly pulses. it crackles for about a second every 4-6 seconds while it is on high, and a little less often...

"A blinking light indicates when the blades should be wiped clean with a damp cloth." I actually had a "handyman" contract last year to visit an elderly gentleman once a month and clean all 9 of his Ionic Breeze GP air purifiers. Before I did that for him, they would make hissing noises and he really didn't like that. Here's how to clean the operative compnents of these machines: First, unplug the machine and place on a work surface, such as a table or kitchen counter. Second, remove the metal blade insert from the top by gripping the release tab and lifting it up and out. Also remove the front and back grilles by pressing on the plastic tab at the bottom and lifting up on them. Third, use a damp rag or paper towel to wipe the three metal blades clean. Do not immerse this assembly in water, because it has to be completely dry when re-installing it in the machine. Fourth, use a small piece of damp paper towel to VERY GENTLY wipe clean the two thin wires inside the unit. These are located behind the two rubbery flat blades just inside the unit and can be accessed from the front side. You won't damage these rubbery flat blades by pushing your hand gently between them, but be VERY CAREFUL when wiping the wires clean. (This step is important, as the wires must be clean.) Fifth, using another bit of damp paper towel, carefully clean the wire attached to the inside of the front grille. Dry this off with a dry bit of paper towel, then clean any accumulated dirt off the front & back grilles. Check the metal contact near the bottom of the front grille (attached to the wire) to verify that it's clean and will make good electrical contact. Sixth, pick the unit up and turn it upside-down & right-side up about 6 to 8 times. The two wires inside have plastic beads on them that slide up and down the wires. This brushes any bits of leftover dust or lint off of the wires. (Again, these wires must be VERY clean.) Seventh, replace the front and back plastic grilles by placing them in their slots and sliding them down to snap into place. Verify that the assembly with the three metal blades is COMPLETELY dry, using a hair dryer if necessary to dry off damp areas, then slide it back into place from the top of the machine. Now the cleaning process is done, so plug the unit in and turn it on to test operation. If it makes ANY noise, then some component is not completely cleaned off, or still has a presence of moisture, which must be completely dried off before the machine is ready for operation. Hope this helps! ;)
