I have a 660 sharp fax . when I 2turn it on its display shows. check cover, check film, check paper. how can I solve it ?

Replace the film, replace the paper(properly installed)and check all covers re-seat them, also check to make sure that the tab that goes into the machine for each cover is not broke if one is then copier thinks that cover is not closed. buy new film.

The flash sometimes doesn't work and prints out white film

Hi, once you insert the new pack of film, first shot is without flash as it's eject the film cover which is a useless film cover that cover the film protect the film being exposed. after first shot, camera will have flash. but do not open the film cover again. if you open and take out the film it will expose to light and film turn out to be white.

Nikon F100 does not advance film to start of roll,

Jim, it really sounds like one of threethings. Either will require a repair shop.
1. the film sensor is not recognizing film in the film chamber, or film across the back, therefore not telling the advance motor to advance film...
2. The film advance motor itself needs replaced.
3. The rear door latch switch needs replaced.
Since everything else seems to do OK, I doubt the main computer board is bad.

Check Film and Cover Open: KX-FPC95

Check for slack in film between supply and take-up rollers. Manually advance take-up roller to remove slack before closing cover.

Have replaced film and unit keeps saying "cover open" or check film. I replaced film correctly twenty times.

On some units it is possible to install the film upside down( backwards) but since you've done it multiple times it is more likely that the sensor that sees the film is broken or blocked. Look for a small block with two little lenses. They don't usually break per se but can get blocked by debris like scraps of paper.
Good luck

Opening the cover

This model print on Thermal transfer technology: there is a black film inside the fax.
Open the cover from the rght side with the green or grey button.
You can then see the black film.
Usually, the top part is the new, the lower is th used.
To know if the film is near empty, you can remove the film from its place and see which side is bigger.
Good Luck.

at end of film roll pull rewind lever up and rotate clock-wise to rewind film.
open film door and remove film.

i think it means the film hasn't loaded properly. I had this and opened up the back and the film hadn't wound so it wasn't exposed. Anyway i just wound the film around a bit and shut the back and it turned on like normal. hope this helps.
