Hi, Restore your computer to the last restore point before it froze using system restore. This should reset the computer where everything was working properly. Hard shut downs can corrupt files and drivers. Also do a full virus scan to make sure your system is clean.

Connect the laptop to the internet using an ethernet cable, once connected perform a Microsoft update and see if there are any updates for the wireless card. If there are then download and install the updated drivers for it, that may resolve the problem. If that does not solve the problem then try removing the power from the modem/router for 30 seconds and then plug the power back in, wait a few minutes and then try to connect to the internet with the wireless.

Good luck.

I cannot connect to the internet using my netgear n150 wireless router. The internet light is orange but the modem is working fine and I can connect to the router itself.

When the router is turned on, the Internet light turns amber for about 20 seconds and then turns green. If the light does not turn green, the router has a problem. If the Internet light is still amber 1 minute after turning on power to the router: a. The Internet is not accessible. Confirm that you have the correct internet setting. b. Clear the router's configuration to factory defaults. This will set the router's IP address to c. Turn the power off and back on to see if the router recovers. If its still not working, reset to factory defaults. You can restore the factory default configuration settings that reset the router's user name to admin, the password to password, and the IP address to To restore the factory default configuration settings: 1. Use a sharp object such as a pen or a paper clip to press and hold the restore factory settings button, located on the rear panel of the router, for about 5 seconds, until the Power light begins to blink (see "Back Panel" on page 4). 2. Release the restore factory settings button, and wait for the router to restart, and for the Power light to stop blinking and become solid green. The factory default settings will be restored so that you can access the router from your Web browser using the factory defaults.

How do I restore this cable modem back to factory settings?

One sure way to reset the modem back to factory settings, is to get on a computer that is connected to it, could be anyone. From there, you would open the internet, and then type in the address bar: "". If you did not mess with this stuff eailier or ever, then the user name is blank, and the password is admin, by defualt. You would then go to security, And you will see two buttons that saids "yes", or "no" to restoring back the factory defaults, click, "yes". And then click "Apply" at the bottom of the page, it should take about a good minute to apply and restore it back to the factory defaults. And that is how you restore it back to the factory defaults.
